Ok, here is my question. I have a Mitsu turbo off of some car, not sure what. Anyway, are the exhaust manifolds the same? I am pretty sure the swingvalves are different, but didnt know about the manifolds. It looks smaller, but I dont have one from a Garrett to compare with.

The swing valves are different. The manifolds are the same though. In fact, the only difference in manifolds that I am aware of are the VNT models have a higher nickle content than the reqular models. They all have a high nickle content, even our blocks.

You can swap them between manifolds. What are you putting the mitsu on? hopefully not a TD that you want to liven up.....

No, im not gonna liven anything up with it. I just am wanting to use the exhaust manifold for a T1 to T2 conversion, but wasnt sure if they were the same. Just wanted to check before I tore it all apart and then had to go find one to clear the new intake runners.

The '88 and up T1 manifold (used with the mitsu) will work for you. The '87 and older T1 manifolds (old style Garret T3) are different, the notch in th etop for intake runner clearance is not there cause the early 'log' T1 manifold did not need that clearance.

So... you can hook up a older 87' and older turbo to a newer style manifold? Or does the notch affect it somehow?

Yes, I've got an '85 turbocharger on my Daytona.. Works like a champ, www.thedodgegarage.com has a great article on how to adapt the early turbo to use on a later intake or engine. I followed their precedure more or less.

The only bit I didn't enjoy was plugging all the holes and then having to clean all the metal out before pulling my rags, seems dangerous Metal is hard on engines....same thing went for drilling and tapping my compressor housing outlet for a hosebarb.

well.. you'd take the housing off for that wouldnt you? A little shot of compressed air and should be good.

Does anyone sell an adapter to make this work easier?
