Bored today and found this at the barrett jackson website sold in 1994 at the "Shelby Garage Sale" I was there, I bought the "Birthday Car" at the auction this car was sold at. check it out
Barrett-Jackson - The World's Greatest Collector Car Events™

also here is the info I gathered on it while at the Shelby Garage sale posted on Jeff Barnetts web page

Shelby Concepts

I'll be curious to see if it even sales, the car sold for $3750 in 1994 and it wouldn't surprise me if it doesn't sale for much more then that but who knows.

that's one ugly looking shelby LOL
looks like an 89 csx that someone stole all the good parts from. Carroll's signature looks like a 5 year did it. I be interested in seeing a lot more pictures including the dash plaque and why it's a prototype. Did it have a t3 head? If it is a real shelby prototype, and has some kind of documentation to prove it, I would be curious to see how much it will bring at auction.

Later,
Cindy
PS Brent, i sent you a PM

You should of seen what little was left of the Birthday Car when I got it. No Vin#'s only those stamped under rear bumper and under fender, and dash plaque. Those cars became parts cars, Tims Banzai blue car was the nicest and most complete of them all. If you read my notes posted on Jeff Barnetts site, this was a VNT Car. All of the Shelby's were sold "As is" for off road use only" no titles, no vins. I was able to get a bill of sale for the birthday car, but no title. The Chrysler vin last six digits was on the key tag of the birthday car and then only stamped on the two spots mentioned above.

My guess is it will be lucky to get 10,000 at auction, no body knows or cares about these car's except the few of us, and most of us are unwilling to spend that kind of money for a car you couldn't drive. I wish it were different but after all of the Shelbly's I've owned I don't think any of them appreciated in value except in the NADA book but not in the real world. But I love the cars and really don't care how much $$$$ they bring in. Frankly the cheaper they stay the more I can enjoy them.

Brett,

A few of us attended the Team Shelby kick off party in Vegas last weekend (kinda thought I'd see you there...) One of the few references to Shelby Dodges in the newly opened "Shelby Cafe" next to the raceway is that autoweek cover with the birthday car inside a frame. There were a few other frames with SD adds from the 80's but seeing the Autoweek cover with your Proto was pretty cool

Alan,

I'm so out of some of this I didn't even know the Shelby thing was going on, Steve said the Shelby Dodge owners were the minority, (whats new ) I've been so focused on trying to get my 72 Road Runner done in time for Vegas "Mopars at the Strip" (to race and sale it) which I'll probably never make, but I've got to try, I feel like my heads been in the sand. My boy's still talk about their ride in your GLHS with big grins on their faces. The only thing I've seen similar to that with them is when I let the two older boys drive my 440 Six Pack Road Runner, but if the truth be known your GLHS would probably spank it with traction.
