Looking to see if '87 CSX #503 is still alive!

My buddy's Birthday is coming up this coming Monday and I thought I might send him a gift of sorts by finding out where his car is and if it is still alive.

He sold #503 some three years ago to a younger guy who at the time lived in Connecticut and the proceeded to move out to Wisconsin. Since then, neither he, nor I have heard anything more about #503. To this day, He regrets selling it tremendously.

If anyone here has seen or knows who owns #503 currently and perhaps if anyone has a picture of it, I would love to give my friend a gift of sorts by telling him that it is alive and hopefully well. I know that if he ever had a chance to own it, he probably would.

Yeah my buddy "Flip" Philip Weggeman was the owner of that car and he is the guy I am inquiring on behalf for.

He sold it to someone here in CT who then moved to Wisconsin. Since then, we have heard hide nor hare about the car...wondering if it is even still alive. I know it's one of 750 and not everyone remembers every numbered Shelby CSX they've seen, but maybe someone here on the boards has "bumped" into it.

By the way moparfwdsleeper, sorry to hear about your CSX. I hope you are able to bring it back to its former glory!

well damn I was hoping it would be from the owner after your friend. Contact S/R and see if they will provide you the VIN copy and paste this link to them and maybe they will be willing to provide that and then have the VIN ran through the DMV system or maybe even a tag office. They could tell you where it is, late tagged, titles status, etc.

Im hoping to get her back to mint condition, will take alot of $$ but im working trying to save up and get started

I was just saying it sounded like a nice car that he had put some effort into - so it's understandable he regrets selling it.

I'm the guy from CT It's still running and has been upgraded. I live in Green Bay. It's still running kept in the garage all winter/fall and only run in the summer when it doesn't rain. Are you the guy who was in Phil's garage with him when I bought it? I remember it was raining on and off and I had a hell of a time finding his house I was like 2 hours late the first time I went to go look at it. I also remember him trying to buy a 05 SER. I never did get around to picking up the hood and the other misc parts. I also recall Phill saying the original owner was from NH. For the most part it's all still together most people think it's stock.

It's got all forged internals by J&E complete rebuild all new seals/gaskets etc. All the AC parts are still here the clutch on the compresser went out and I didn't use it enough to chase one down. Parking brake is 100% fixed :P Just installed all new rotors pads and calipers. Brand new PS Pump and hoses 1 week old. Wipers work...the intermed works most of the time. Installed the pioneer speakers you wanted to install. Put a 87 CSX radio in that the tape works in.Also fixed the wiper fluid sensor and resivor. Brand new A555 built by Cliff R. 255 Walbro, +40's AFPR Datalogging laptop using CHEM etc etc. Interior still looks mint even the steering wheel and seats. I've probally dropped 4k+ into it since I bough it from you. All that plus so much much more. I have two kids now so I don't have the time to drive it or work on it. In four years I've put 8.5k on it lol. 1400 of those miles was the drive from CT to WI and some driving around Chicago messing around at the street drags. It made it without a problem and got 33 MPG.

Everything you gave me with the car is still there including the bottle of black turtlewax. Funny I just found this post I was actually milling over the idea of selling it since I drove it two times last year total. Here are some pics.

Yeah is really one of those cars that you know when you sell it your going to miss it. Its just in such good shape and no rust. Easy to work on because there is no rust unlike most TDs where it takes a torch and three days of PB Blast to loosen the last bolt everytime you try to fix somthing haha. Plus no one belives me when I tell them it's 21 years old...Even with the collector plates they don't belive me lol

Hey if u do plan on selling, let me know and give me 1st crack since i asked haha. I have wanted a omni, spirit, csx, etc and never really came across any worth buying since i havent really found any in decent shape lol. Had a turbo 2.5 ES daytona which i loved though haha
