The Formula GP struts on my 87 SL leaked so I replaced them with Lancer ES Mopar struts - they allow the car to float, aren't firm enough. I'm looking for something better - KYB's? Koni's? Anybody tried them or? Suggestions please. Thanks, Steve

Good luck finding Konis. They haven't been made for this car for quite a while and I've been looking for a long time. I'd like to have them both for my SL and CSX as well so I'd be interested in seeing what other people have to say on this. Good luck to you at any rate!

No experience with the Lancer, but I see KYB's on just about everything. Got the Excel-G's on my Daytona. And I love them!

Thanks - I'll see if they make KYB's for the SL. Steve

The shocks/struts are the same for the S-Lancer, Shadow/CSX, Daytona, and Spirit. You'll find those no problem. The Koni's are hard to come by and I wouldn't waste time trying to find old/NOS formulaGP's. They weren't bad 21 years ago but are junk by todays standards.

I haven't had good luck with used Koni's - sometimes they aren't even rebuildable. I'm hoping to find new ones. Thanks, Steve

There's a guy on ebay I've seen with a couple of sets of nos gp lancer struts, took me a while to find them, might be worth a look. IIRC they were reasonably priced.
