sweet! I thought it was you that bought it back a few years ago. If nothing else, the low miles and the super charger setup makes it a winner. Only real question I have is the lack of a roll bar, if it was a racer you would think it would have it.

I like the car! then again, i am partial to l-body 2drs! wheather or not it truely is what the seller claimed, well now that YOU have it you will have to show us that when you get it!. it is a possibilty though. When you consider that the o24/tc3 had been around for 4 years by 82, but that chrysler was just reviving the charger name..... and if it was a "test" car, depending on what was being tested there may not have been a need for a roll bar/cage. no shelby badging dose not suprise me . i have seen pics of shelby prototypes that do not have any badging! as for the posts in the other thread about being able to "see" the 1/4 glass openings through the hatch, any one who ows a 83 1/2 s-c can testify that the 1/4 trim still had the hole in it for that glass! dodge just put a chunk of fabric over a filler and stuck it in there!. All in All i think you did ok!

dont know if i can but since it never was on the road, auto check said no records for this vehicle. shows that it was only a race car. but as long as it does not have any other history the dmv should be able to give one?? dont know only time will tell!! i am sure it will be a pain in the ass!!

interesting find! the engine bay looks real enough...with all the jazz on the drivers side of the motor and wild valve cover. sweet score!

Probably doesn't run fast enough to require a rollbar.You can run 12 flat without one.

The supercharger and valve cover are defiantly interesting pieces. Hopefully the documentation proves the cars authenticity. My guess would be the car was used for shows and not acutally raced. I believe the actual race Chargers were bodies in white (no VIN on them at all). The car just looks so plain Jane compared to the Charger pictured here:

Just throwing out a couple more points:
I haven't had a stick L body in a while but the clutch pedal looks like one from a later P, A, or G body....much wider than the L body clutch pedal I recall.

Also, a serious racer would have thrown the smog pump in the trash as well as that "stir stick" of a shifter.

The valve cover is the same as a Turbo one without the turbo on it it appears, but no supercharged on the front like the DC kit had

i don't know what auto check is, but have you thought of running it on carfax to see what response that gets you? since it didn't come with a title, it would suck if it came back as a stolen 024 that someone had dolled up when you try to go get it legal!
