Why do people put a threat in their ad, "if you don't buy it I'm going to (add your own destruction here). The cash for clunker will only give them $1500. Who are they fooling.
Looks like a nice clean truck though.

By the way, there is a red one for sale in Richmond, VA for $2500 at a jyard.

No the cash for clunkers will give ya 4,500.
And you have to crush the motors out of the truck so that they will never see the road again. My dad (who owns a salvage yard) has got a contract with the cash for clunkers. Any td's we get won't be crushed straight away. Well they wont be crushed at all but we will have to part them =( any rare shelbys will be saved but not legally

Save them all! Cash for clunkers be damed!

I missed out on a 1986 Chrysler 5th ave in mint shape with 32 000km on it because of a program like this. Ban cash for clunkers!

I just heard about the "ruin the motor" clause tonight. That's the most absurd thing I've ever heard and a complete waste of money. They require the dealers to buy a special fluid called "liquid glass" that replaces the oil. Then they run the engine until it locks up. If they don't do this, the dealerships etc can't get their money back from the government. Then the salvage yards can have the cars for 180 days and at the end of that time they must be crushed.

And yes Robert, that Shelby Dakota is still at CAP last I checked. I was there on the 26th.

the SEMA folks put the screws to the cash for clunkers if you can't stop it from happening mess it up. The car has "25 years" insured on the road for one year and one other thing any shelby that is an 1984 or older can not be used for that program.
