His post said Wilmington so it must have been the same car.

Spycker, Why close the post, who knows it may lead to finding out where it came from, could be some more parts or cars tucked away somewhere.

Re: Prototype Shelby Street Fighter Rampage found...

I just noticed it looks like the top was chopped on it. Someone should re-create this truck.

Re: Prototype Shelby Street Fighter Rampage found...

was the top chopped an inch or 2? It would be cool to build one if nothing else....

why couldn't I live in California when this thing was around?? lol ...I know if I had of found it, I'd make it mine. I've never meet a scrap yard that hasn't caved in after a long chat.

Re: Prototype Shelby Street Fighter Rampage found...

I know this is an old thread, and the car is long gone, but I thought I might add my story about this car. My family was old friends with it's builders. It was designed and built by Metalcrafters, and Tony Carlini ended up with the car after Chrysler was done with it. Metalcrafters built the prototype cars for Chrysler, Nissan, and a few other manufacturers. I remember visiting the shop with my uncle and seeing them building the Viper prototype. The Street Fighter sat in my driveway for about a month somewhere around 1990, because my dad was thinking about buying it. I rode in the car, and we broke down. I think it was a fuel pump. I remember it not having license plates at the time, but there weren't any issues with the title. Carlini wanted 10k for it, and my dad thought it was too much so we returned it. I have been searching for the car for years, and I google it every once in a while to see if it popped up. Tony Carlini passed away about 10 years ago, and I don't know what happened to it after that. I have seen a lot of depressing things at the junkyards over the years, and I have rescued a few cars including a Skylark convertible from that same Pick a Part about a month ago, but this is the most tragic and upsetting thing I've seen yet. The build quality of the car was amazing. I hope someone at least salvaged the nose and fenders.

Re: Prototype Shelby Street Fighter Rampage found...

The nose cone is the same as the 82 Charger 2.2 PPG pace car it was red and had gold CHARGER 2.2 Stripe kit and had blackout tint on the windows and a wild lift spoiler off the hatch.
The pop headlights were originally taken from a Pontiac Fiero.
