A competition package car would be a C/S without the lower ground effects. All the good stuff the Daytona Shelby got but about 200lbs less weight.

Ah ha. Very good to know. I saw the red in the lower stripe and I thought that was the indication of the competition package. Although, I have seen the CS cars you mention and it makes sense now. I try to stick to 4 door L bodies but I love the G bodies too.

Bring back an old thread...

Still got mine, bought from ScottD the silver shelby guru!

Anyways couldnt sell it whole for cheap... its still here and I think I'll putting it back together. Maybe with a t3/568. Its an auto hardtop car, pretty solid and straight, its been around the board!

1 = US
C = Chrysler
3 = Passenger
B = Manual seat belt
G = Daytona
7 = this only goes to six, might be a factory typo 1 - economy 2- low 3 - medium 4 - high 5 - premium 6 - special
4 = 2 dr hatchback
A = 2.2 turbo 2
8 = means nothing
K = 1989
G = St. Louis
271855

Either you have an 89 Daytona C/S AGS (competition package - this will have no lower ground effects, just the bulge hood and rear spoiler and an AGS code on the data plate, 1 of 269 built) or just a regular 89 Daytona Shelby
(4,741 built).

I own an 89 Daytona C/S AGS so I'm familiar with decoding these cars.

Thank you ScottD for the info. Mine has the lower ground effects, I did some research after my first post and found that there was less then 2500 built. How ever I will not quote the number as I can not verify the source. But thank you again for the info, I have decided to replace the head and I have a reman. on order and it should be here tomorrow.

Here`s a pic of it in the driveway with my black one........

Measure how much of each line you need and then bring some of your old lines to the auto parts store to match up.

Brake booster uses 3/8 inch lines, 1/4 inch are need as well as 5/16 inch. I'd also upgrade to a vacuum block.

Do one line at a time, it will become easier.
