Needless to say this car isn't leaving the family again. i just rebuilt the engine. its bored out .030 with new mp pistons. it a custom cal'd computer from matt wright, new turbo with quick spool option from turbos unleashed, a reworked g head, k&n air filter, stock cam, and has a bov mounted in the air box. i just installed a new Mcleod clutch with a new mp flywheel. koni adjustable struts and shocks all around. i also installed a high flow cat and muffler. all the shelby stuff is there including the dex, dash plaque, and all the ground effects. when i graduate college i'm planning on restoring the car completely.

more parts to the story and believe me this is good. A piece of the story i left out is that back in 1993 my dad and i took 2nd place at the mopar nats in indy with the lancer. we won a plaque as an "Award of Excellence". When i bought this car the plaque was missing and i asked the guy that sold it to me before i left if he had it and he said "no". as i was walking out of his used car dealership office i noticed a plaque on the wall that looked alot like the one my dad and i won at the nats. i asked the guy if that was the plaque and he said "no my dad and i won that with a black daytona" : so i left dissappointed i didnt get it back. (fast forward a year) last weekend i was in michigan so i stopped by the place to see if he had "found" my trophy and as luck would have it he was gone on vacation. so i asked the guy behind the desk about the trophy and if i could have a look at the one on the wall that looked alot like mine. he said "sure but how will i know its yours" and i told him that my dads name should be on the back of it on a piece of tape. so he takes it off the wall and asked me what my dads name was. i told him and he handed me the trophy. turns out the slimey piece of ( insert explicative here ) filled me full of you know what about winning it with his dad. My dads name was still on the back. Boy is he gonna be pissed when he gets back to work.

Hey that's pretty good! Yep that rattle is the overhead compartment door w/e it is. The solid mounts transmit quite a bit of vibration too. I'm not complaining if I cared I'd remove them I much prefer the benefit of having them. I do need to go through the interior on a tightening mission though. Does anyone have any of the black hex screws for the dash panel? I'm missing some.. #92 is really nice man. Really nice. I wish mine looked like that.

my apologies if there is a source for this info and i missed it, but as far as production numbers go, anyone know how may 87 SL's were leather & 5speed? i saw that it was roughly split between cloth manual, and leather automatics, but i would assume you could get leather with a 5 speed?
..and is anyone reproducing the shelby graphics for these cars??
thanks.
