800 were to have been produced, supposedly split 50/50 between 5spd/cloth and auto/leather.

Speculation has it there were 5 or so auto/cloth cars.

As far as anyone knows there was never a 5spd/leather car.

And for graphics, contact Dave Salamone at Positive Impressions.

Hello,
My nephew just picked up a SL #117 5spd/Cloth from Chris M in Orlando.
Does not have original engine, but all the Shelby parts are there except for the Shelby steering wheel (Paperwork shows it was replaced by the original owner to a Momo soon after it was purchased).
Has original Pioneer radio, but is currently flashing CODE (Any Ideas?)
Car runs, but needs tuning, paint and some TLC.
I will attempt to contact the original owner for history info and from what I can tell it's a Florida car.
Car resides now in Cape Coral, Florida.

Henry

I just bought #728, which is a bit worn looking at this point, but is all there.

Here's the thing though...the car has leather and a manual trans, (thus my previous question)
i was reading on one of the shelby sites that a few of the cars were mix and match, and weren't available at the time to the public. Is there any possibility that the leather option on this car is for real or did someone replace it?

i know the easy asnwer is that some one replaced it, but is there any way to know for sure?

(thanks by the way for the graphics source.)

..and i'll put pics up in a bit.

possibly a fender tag. You can check the build sheet that may still be under the carpet as well!

It's not too difficult to put a leather interior into a 5-sp car. You just need all the right parts and a few hours. You'd never know w/o the build sheet. That's the goal I have for mine (5-sp) install the leather and store the cloth stuff. I've always been extremely envious of the leather cars but as nice as it could be I can't get past the auto trans. ALL SL's deserve the leather, lol.

i'll have to see if i can find a build sheet. is there any resource to decode the fender tag?

also, all these cars are based on the same architecture, so do you guys think the front floor on a lancer would be the same as the floor on a lebaron 2dr, or daytona?
Theres a rotted section on mine right under the dead pedal on the frt dr floor, and it's been patched, but i'd like to replace the patch with an actual chunk of floor, but there are no solid lancer parts cars by me.

woohoo... i found the sl thread!

i have # 776 5 speed/cloth.
been sitting under the hot phx sun for around 7 years due to (i suppose.. havent found anything else) a super leaky fuel damper.

so far ive changed the plugs and wire distributor, new fuel damper, new intake gaskets and clean gasoline. and she start and drives super! desperatly needs a new set of tires, some fresh paint and new tint.

also got to rehang the body kit, its looking a little droopy.

also need to rewire the interiour... the last owner(s) had an aftermarket kit and destroyed the door panels, the regulaters, switches and part of the console.

but he runs !! wooohooooooooo i ran the smoke of it today. now it can burn all that nice clean 92 oct.

isn't he beautiful?
