I got to see my 'new' Shelby Lancer yesterday again. As some of you know, I bought it last May for $400. I agreed to pay the guy $150 to deliver it to me but he hasn't come through on his promises yet. Not only that, he won't answer the phone, return my calls, or call me to give me an update on the car!

So yesterday I went down to Denver to see if the car was still sitting where it was. It was still there, but some idiot decided to throw a 5 gallon propane bottle through the rear window so that's busted out now. There was also multiple wasp nests in the door jambs so I couldn't get in the car, let alone very close to it.

I called the guy up from the town where the car is, and this time he actually answered the phone! I think he was avoiding any number with my area code because he doesn't want to give me a refund or deliver the car. Now I'm stuck going to get the car myself and he is supposedly going to refund my $150 transportation allowance.

This whole incident has burned me to the point that I don't even want to own a Shelby Lancer anymore. I wish I never even bought the damn thing. It's #371 by the way. It's missing the steering wheel and needs a few mechanical things but it doesn't come with a title so I'm still not sure wether to part it out or what.

You can get a title. Look for damage if there is alot of rust you may have to part it out.

As you have (correct) I own Shelby Lancer #71, it is a 5 spd. cloth car, almost turning 59,000 miles. Badly needs paint, has two tiny dents (trunk lid and A-pillar).

Will be getting restored when I have time and money. Right now it is my daily driver, very reliable (knock on wood).

Just a stupid newbie question.....I have an 89 Lancer shelby TII 5spd, and my room-mate has an 88 Lancer shelby TII 5spd, production #'s are located in the vin or what?

Actually this thread is for accounting for the '87 Shelby Lancers (the numbered Shelby cars) the '88 and '89 Lancer Shelbys were the regular Dodge production versions. The combined 88 and 89 LS production is actully lower than the 800 produced 87 SL.

I have Shelby Lancer #416 and #418.
Both are automatic, leather.
416 has less than 70k on it, but someone played bumper cars with it.
418 has about 140k and needs to be repainted, both are complete including the pioneer stereos.

Shelby Lancer #600 Now resides with Chuck Franzen (DodgeZ's dad). I can't verify, but I believe it is an automatic. I'll be sure to update later.

my bad............it's just this list confused me as it says Lancer Shelby, not Shelby Lancer....and in that case does that not make my Lancer Shelby more rare than a numbered Shelby Lancer, minus the cs memorabilia and the pioneer stereo in the cars?
