Working on rebuilding it.

Know of two other dead ones, do not have # or VIN right now.

#63 is on it's way back to being an upstanding member of society!

VIN# 1B3BX68E3HN395640 is a cloth/ 5 speed car with 83,608 miles and is currently missing only 1 centercap (otherwise it's complete). DEX-77 is not currently working (I suspect a coffee spill during previous ownership...don't ask why I think it's due to a coffee spill), but I will do everything within reason to get it working.

The car runs well and has just received a complete brake system (all but the master and proportioning valve) and new fuel lines. Minor rust on rear passenger wheel well and bottom of rocker are in process, and a clutch, tires, exhaust, and new bushings are slated for the winter.

Marshall one the vin to no. 275 is 1B3BX6E4HN429987. I was also wondering if you had looked at the website called Shelby Lancer Pages. He really had a fairly complete registry there. It might be intresting to compare with the one that you have made. It might help out on some of the salvage cars and locations of others. Keep up the good work.

The last list I made which was earlier in this thread included the Shelby Lancer Pages. That website is my home page at home.

I guess I should've compared the lists better. It seems to be a great reference website. Is there anyone still keeping it up to date? I noticed a lot of the links were dead.

Mine is on the Shelby Lancer pages, but was not on this list. I am not sure if anyone is keeping it up as things with my car have changed since I first sent in the information.

Why would you want to trade a lancer for a neon? If thats the kind of car you want, why even buy a lancer? I COULD have bought an srt-4. I'd much rather have a lancer. It's got more rear room and its a hatchback. The weight is almost the same, it's 1/4 the cost and its unique. Honestly, other than the rear suspension, I can't see anything thats better on the neon. As for said rear suspension, I am looking into a way to solve that issue since it would apply to all K-based TD's. (everything but the L's, which have an acceptable rear suspension design already)

And those neons just have them lined up, lol. Nothing like a car that started life at $13k to get a girl turned on...

The GTC did quite well with girls - must have been the more the driver though The Jeep does even better

I don't agree with their statement anyhow. The Lancer is a nice looking car, nicer than any neon. Slap on some coil overs and some 17's and it's pretty hot. Chicks dig red sporty cars with rims and chicks also dig 4-doors.. cause they are thinking "family car"... It's also a more mature "grown-up" car than a neon. I would not trade my lancer for a neon...

I agree. Actually, after I bought SL512 - I sold my Neon ACR. I love the Lancer - I get way more 'thumbs up' than in my Neon.

Cheers

Well, I convinced my wife that the SL was not a Winter car. It was making me sick thinking I might have to drive it in the Winter. Even if I undercoated the crap out of it - I am sure it would suffer. It has no rust on it now, and now it will get to hibernate in my heated garage.

It will be one of my '3 season' toys. So I picked up a low mileage 1999 300M as my 'Winter Beater'

Cheers

Well I own both a Shelby lancer and a SRT-4 and plan to keep it that way.
I have no intenions of modding my Lancer other than a computer.
The SRT will have a few mods but nothing radical.
I just love driving both cars and don't care what they attract.
The refinements in the SRT-4 as compared to my other cars is nice too.
I'm still disappointed Chrylser replaced the Neons with the Caliber thingy.
I am sick of SUV like crap on the roads all up in my way.
