Ok we always have a meeting on the 2nd weekend of every month but in May that's opening fishing season so some members will not be able to attend. So I would like to have a vote on which day you can attend the meeting.

Meeting will be at Porky's Drive Inn in Saint Paul
1890 University Ave W
Saint Paul, MN 55104 - 3402
(651) 644-1790

If you are not going to attend then don't vote! I'm not going to drive all the way down there to see that no one showed up!

Jim,
I drive 45 minutes to attend each meeting in NE Coon Rapids (might as well call it Anoka LOL). The Porky's idea is a good one, but they do charge per car to drive through the lot. I don't know what time they start doing this, and when they don't, but keep that in mind. I'll have to check some dates.

I didn't know that they started to charge to park there, I figured at 2:00 it wouldn't be to busy there. Does anyone else know of a Drive Inn that we could hold our meeting at?

They only charge to park there during big events, such as Car Craft and Back to the 50's. During the day Porkies is usually empty, I have ate there many times during the day and never had a problem finding a spot or having to pay to park.

I live about 1/2 mile from Porkys and don't recall ever having to pay to park; however they do want people using the parking lot to be customers (buy food, eat food, etc.).

Porky's for the win.

I'm starving right now.

Anyway. I voted May 13th.

Like RJ said, the only time I remember cars having to pay to park is during the Back to the 50's and Car Craft weekends.

Yep! The Shelby Lancer will be sucking the exhaust fumes from your SRT-4 and Ryan's Spirit R/T!

Haha, you could high off the fumes coming out of the Spirit R/T. It's insane on the inside.

Ryan,
Most weekends they charge. Not just only big weekends. We got turned away this year already in my buddies perfect 80 turbo Trans Am. Whenever they get busy, they have someone at the gate with their hand out. I understand they want people to purchase something, but this seems sort of lame to me. They started this at least a couple years ago. One reason why I don't patronize them very often. IMO, North St. Paul is the place to go on Friday nights. That is where you can find me when I have a Friday night to kill.

I've never seen anyone standing there on the non-event weekends. Ryan and I have been there almost every weekend that it has been nice. Then again, maybe it's the times. We usually get there around 9ish.

Are you sure that you guys aren't being stopped by some random person asking for money?

Even when someone is asking for money at the gate, the $2 cost is actually a voucher to be redeemed for food, IIRC. So it's not like you're just paying to park for nothing.

Well so far it looks like May 13th, if we go there and they won't let us park there or there is no place to park does anyone have any suggestions?

Are there any other Drive-Inn's around that area?

If Porky's is to full we could go to a lake or maybe Stillwater.
