All Fellow TurboDodgers,
I have a buddy who rents out a drag strip with his work buddies twice a year. The next one is Wednesday, May 9th. This is a great opportunity to come out and prove what your car can do. You can literally run down the strip 3 times, tweak your car, and run again. If you wanted to, you could probably get 20+ runs in. It's also a very low pressure environment so if you've never raced you don't have to feel awkward or uncomfortable. ..and for those concerned that your car might not pass inspection, I'll just say that there isn't one. As long as you can roll up you windows, you don't have something that looks "dangerous" hanging off the outside of your car, and you look like you're wearing a seatbelt, you should be good to go.
The event is weighted heavily in the mustang/corvette direction although you'll see a little bit of everything including motorcycles. Last fall a guy brought a drag motorcycle which was an experience to watch. You could hear the guy missing gears and still see 8s on the scoreboard. As I recall, we even saw a hybrid Honda Civic once (as in gas/electric not big engine in civic body). Regardless, I'd love to arrive with a fleet of turbo dodges.
Let the smack talking begin!
Here's the official details.
