i would hate to wait until after 7 am on saturday morn just to know whether NED is even open, best case scenario on that would mean i wouldnt arrive trackside until after 10 am, maybe closer to 11 am. thats almost too late to even bother w/ such a long drive.

LVD is less than 1/2 the distance for me.

this effin weather always makes our fun so complicated to plan. and more snow for next week all over new england.

Jim I was just going of what I heard, but you cant always belive what you hear obviously. You are right about NED pits it does seem to be paved better but mabey I just dont notice as much. I acctually just got of the phone with NED Joe says snow covered just the grass, and they are running tonite and tomorrow if the weather stays the way there saying it is . Sunny and 50's for saturday, a little bit windy though. I hate new england weather!! Cant wait for summer so we all bitch its to HOT to go racing.

If I won't know until 7am on Sat. it won't work for me. I was planning on leaving my place before 6.

O well, I'll head south and work on my new project instead.

I'm sort of in the same boat - 2.5 hour drive, so I was planning on leaving at 6 AM. If I have to wait to call until after 7 AM, that puts me at the track at around 10 AM - not good.

Who is going for sure? If there's not many planning on going, I might just take Jim's lead and head out to LVD for the day.

Bill Baker where are you?!?!?!? What do you think oh mighty Pres??? Can we change the location of the points event or do you want to stay with NED?

I love how the track people tell different stories to different people . They should become weathermen. I know in Oxford I was suppose to get 6 inches and all i got was rain .............

On another note is anyone running a 4 puck clutch from cindy?? just mounted my slicks on the glhs went for a rip down route 12, came to a stop revved her up and side stepped the clutch Engine rpms went to the roof 1st gear 2nd gear 3rd gear but no tire smoke nor burnt clutch smell... I hope 20lbs in the slicks and a cold road made for some spinnage....or else well who knows..
Just seeing if anyone raced and abused a car with that clutch..

I am running a Spec STAGE 3, and I really like it other than the chatter. I do notice in the cold weather the same symptoms though.

With 4+ hrs between me and the track looks like I am a no for this event. I'll have to make up my points at the next one.

I run the 4 puck from cindy. Did you break it in at all? I was told to run at least 300 miles of easy driving before dumping the clutch with boost. I ran about 500 miles (was breaking in the engine as well) before I went hard on it and it hasn't slipped yet. That includes running 20psi on slicks at the track.

I do remember taking some friends for a ride in the car and I smoked the tires in first and second gear and when I hit third I thought the clutch slipped (RPM's tached up pretty quick and I didn't hear the tires spinning), but when I went back later to look at the burn out marks, you could see the gaps where I shifted and the 2-3 gap was there so that makes me believe that it was the tires spinning and not the clutch slipping. Maybe this is what happened to you?

So, based on the comment above, are you still going to LVD Jim or are you going to go to NED?

Johnny If breaking it in means 20psi with nos then yes I have... lol I d9id drive the car a few hundred miles but I have been beating the crap out of it also. I belive if the clutch slipped I would smell it.... Anywho both tracks are the same distance from my house so I will go to either. I would love to run and meet other TD guys though. It is just that well NED sounded so unsure and LVD was like YES YES YES on the phone.. I will let you know my final answer at 7pm..

MARCUS ARE YOU GOING TO BRING THE PLUG WIRES? please.. Mine just shipped today so I will not get them untill Monday..

Jim you bet, wherever you race i'll be there w/ those wires and the NOS coolant overflow bottle cap, the later being necessary for your car to run at its best......

Bill Baker: let's switch this thing to LVD right now okay?

OK - I just called NED and they said that they are 95% sure that they will be open tomorrow and that the 5% uncertainity was because they don't trust the weatherman LOL!

So, I think I'm going to stick with the original plan and head up to NED.

Jim - what does a cooking ceramic clutch smell like anyway? I doubt it smells like the old asbestos clutches (kind of like a brake smell). I have heard of people slipping the 4 pucks - especially with the low end torque of the 2.5, so maybe you are slipping. We'll, one thing for sure - you'll find out tomorrow if you run slicks

dumb question: cant you tell clutch-slipping from spinning by looking at what the speedometer is doing?

oh so now NED says "95% gonna open"......Jim if Jonny is going to NED you really should also since you two will likely be the only omnis and i want a video of that match up to share with all the fans!!!

Bill Baker just posted up on the NESDAC list that he confirmed with NED that they will be open tomorrow and has asked that this thread gets updated to let everyone know that tomorrow is a go for points day at NED.

So, NED it is for me.

Come on Jim - go up to NED - I want uncle sam to run against his old antenna
