I think he wanted to leave the lights on time in stead of sitting there, so he tried building boost on the first light and then rolling into the 2nd light under boost. Lucky no redlight
Pretty sure his good times were all about building boost off the line vs bogging

So, I guess it required a little more than just fancy footwork to get that bad boy into gear...Nice! Get any decent quarter times before breaking the shift linkage?
I was out there for the street legal series and got my new personal best. Not quite a 10, yet, but it's close!

Just two 13.3's. MPH is bad because the slicks are taller then the DR's I used before and the clutch slipping. I would probably go faster with stock cams because my rev limiter is too low to take advantage of my big cams. I drop out of the powerband on shifts even if I am making full boost. Basically I need megasquirt :P
The clutch wont behave at all. If I "try" a 3rd gear or higher burnout....it fails and then slips on my run because its hot. If I do even a tiny 2nd gear burnout, it gives enough traction that the clutch still slips. I glazed it two weeks ago and I will have to figure out the least work/$ possible to fix that.
Shawn was reporting to me how you did when i was out in the parking lot. Changing an axle between rounds sounds fun

LOL! That's awesome to see a Duster keeping up with a Kenne Bell Cobra! That's got to be pretty degrading for the person owning the cobra to see an old grocery getter coupe sitting right beside him the whole length of the track.
Congrats on the times, they really aren't all that bad! You're knocking on 12's!

What exactly are your clutch issues. Shawn was saying something about that.

The inability to shift above 6500 rpm. Ever since I went with an EMS and increased the rev limit, I've had nothing but trouble jamming gears. It is typical for the SRT-4 trans to be stubborn, but not to the point of being impossible to shift. I am attributing the problem to a high mass clutch disc. Being that it is a sprung 6-puck disc, it has a bit more weight to it than is ideal for quick shifts. It just has too much momentum between shifts and won't allow for the input shaft to slow down to the gear speed.
I am trying to decide on a solution. Ultimately, I think I will be going with a Quartermaster twin disc setup, which should allow for great high rpm shifting. The only downside is how harsh it will be to drive. I shouldn't have to worry too much about that, however, since I don't daily drive the car. As far as input shafts are concerned, I have a billet version on the way, so I shouldn't have to worry about snapping it like a twig.

I had a Great ending to the midnight drags, I was hoping ro run a 15.8 ish based on the fact that I ran a 15.9 in vegas on 12 PSI and now am running 15PSI at the higher altitude. I ran my first 2 runs with a 4PSI launch and had my fiance in the car and the van went 16.3 and 16.07. The third run I lauched at 10 psi and no fiance and ran a 15.29 @ 87 mph I was way happy about that and I can't wait to go out again with a few more PSI to run 14s.

A twin disc is supposed to drive better then something like my solid 3 puck (which is glazed ). You can get away with less pressure plate too.
Waiting to shift sucks...I had a broken pressure plate last year and couldnt shift above 3000 rpms :P

Yay. I move the shifter cables to a different spot on the body but they are too long now. Oh well, it shifts better. Only problem is I need to make sure one of the cables doesn't try to get in the way of the gas pedal.
Clutchnet wants me to mail the clutch and PP back to them but its going to be raining all week so I am not going to pull the motor during damp weather. Means I wont have a good clutch anytime soon

Any one have any ideas on how to get more people to come to the meets? I went to a Vedub meet over the weekend and was floored by the 35+ cars that were there. I know that there isnt that many of us, but we need to get more people, comming more consistantly. Not only that, but they are talking about moving there meeting spot to murray park..... We dont want to constantly get shown up by the veedubbers do we? lol
Thoughts, ideas?

I just dont think there are enough TD guys around the valley that are serious enough to show every month. I think our other problem is that half the time our cars are broken anyways! I met a guy this week that has a turbo minivan with a T2 turbo and a front mount that I am going to try to get to come out ths next meeting. I think we just all need to try harder to find people.

I second that. Not enough people in the area and something is always breaking on our cars. And the fact that most people, excluding the TD community sees these cars as just disposable POS's. Most were crushed when they had the chance and no one is making parts for them. If you look at the Vedub boys. They have companies all over the place making restoring parts for them! But ours are much cooler . Just because most people rarely see them. I saw a guy at the car wash by my house a couple of months ago that had an 85 Laser turbo. We talked for quite a while and he said that his dad got him into it. And he has a few Daytona's around his yard. And lives not too far from me. He seemed interested in coming to the meets. He gave me his number but its seems to be disconnected.
