I'd be up for a tinker/detail day. I know a lot of tricks for detailing.

All are awesome ideas. I'm partial to anything we do. Mine needs a clutch, and both axles very soon. So thats only a couple of hour job. And... there was something else?? Hm... cant remember at the time.. Oh thats right!!! To figure out my dash!! haha. I need to get a hold of a wire diagram for It. I think there may be a short somewhere in the harness. I go a replacement cluster and it buzzes really loud and then cuts out. . So thats probably what took out my original one. And even though mine has a really bad paint job I still like to keep it clean.. My #1 pet peeve - Driving a dirty car! A dyno day, karting. Anything sounds fun!

Clint! I met someone today who has a white FWD TT 3000gt SL.

Talked with him a bunch. He goes to the Midnight races to watch but I doubt his car will ever race there. I didnt even know a FWDTT existed in Utah. Says he bought it from some diesel shop owner in SLC who took the car away from his son who was getting in trouble.

LOL, was he stealing money to pay for the conversion?

That's awesome. I used to live next to guy with a white SL. Doubt it was him though. He wasn't the kind of guy who would go to the midnights. Did you tell him about the meets, maybe we can get him to come? I'd love to meet him and see his car.

I didnt get enough personal information on him.
He remembered seeing the minivan racing two weeks ago and he thought that was cool. He also remembers watching my car.
I am hoping he walks up to me at the midnights tomorrow.
Name is Ricardo according to BET-RHD (Jason, a 3/S vendor who lives in Utah).

Yeah, I've met Jason. We should get him to a meet to. He's a pretty good guy plus he can get pretty good deals on parts.

Well this car is leaving the hole great!

I was able to get a 1.75 and 1.76 60' tonight.
My secret was actually getting a slight burnout in 2nd gear (but the clutch still slips at the end of the burnout )

Then when the amber lights start going, I ride the rev limiter. Datalogs show I am leaving with 5 pounds of boost on my T67!!!!!
Clutch slips etc in 1st gear though.

Best pass was 13.0@104 (clutch yucky) and we turned the boost up to 9.5ish and the car ran slower and the clutch was more pissed off.

I am hoping I can keep up the 1.75 60's and maybe do better with the clutch fixed.
I will post up the timeslips. My 60' takes no effort. Its just ride the rev limiter, dump the clutch while keeping it WOT
I have to jut wait until the car feels like it isn't accelerating anymore though because I cant tell when its time to shift by RPMs since the clutch is slipping or slicks are spinning and hitting the rev limiter. Launching SO balls out was really really fun. Launching with boost is awesome. Its 5psi when I drop the clutch and it instantly goes to 6 8 or whatever I have the boost set to.

The datalogs I remembered to take on my 2-4th passes were very helpful. I was trying to get the 12.99 but upping the boost didn't help anything. I could probably run the same times with 6psi boost

It was AWESOME the way the car was leaving the line tonight! Props on a good setup! With a clutch, your car is going to be lethal. We need to get you a short throw shifter!
Vids to follow tomorrow, when I can keep my eyes open.

So, are we thinking of doing the detail day this weekend? Or just meet at the park?
Thoughts?

Some good new I changed out my blown head gasket and put in a nice and pricy cometic MLS gasket. And my GLHS ran beautifully for about 5min!! There are plumes of white coolant smoke coming out of my tail pipe!! I am losing coolant quickly but it isn't mixing with the oil? I don't think it is a probablem with the new gasket. Have any of you heard of the coolant line of the turbo leaking and leading to white exhauxst?? that is all I can figure it to be because the smoke does not get worse while the engine heats up it would get worse if it was the head. right? Any Ideas? If I fix the Shelby I will be at the next meet

Did you check the clearances on the surface of the head and block?

When the old gasket went did the car ever over heat or run hot for long periods of time? You could have cracked the head. Did you have it pressure tested when you pulled it off?

He put a Cometic MLS on there so even if there is not a crack, if the surfaces are no good, it wont seal for beans. Those need to be correct and then its a good idea to hit the gaskets with copperseal before reinstallation.
