Yeah, it's not the Hinckley show anymore. It used to be held every year at Hinckley Dodge on state and 23rd south. Either the show got too large for their lot, or they lost interest. It is at Larry H Miller Dodge just south of Southtowne Mall.

I know the omni will be bad ass too. Its just hes put alot of work into that thing, for the purpose of racing it. I say go for it, and if needed, use my drag radials. And if you wanted to get real crazy, we could put my stage 4 cal in there.

I am pretty sure I am going to tear up an axle pretty quick. They are both the originals in there right now, so I expect they wont last long, especially with a set of slicks on there!

So the show was pretty cool today. Not a lot of TD's, but I think the show snuck up on a lot of us. My Omni didn't make it out, but my R/T was there. Jeremy and his Turbo Z made it, Stan and his Shelby Charger came, and the Butchers Brought two Neon R/T's and an SRT4.

Interestingly enough I didnt even take any pictures of all the cars grouped together. There was a new Challenger that was obviously the center of attention all day and I have to say it was pretty awesome! Oh, and the Butchers brought the first gen Neon R/T with the SRT4 motor/trans swapped in which belongs to their brother who is in Iraq. I have to say that it was pretty cool. Here are a few pic I snapped.

Thanks for the pics guys. Too bad about the PT Crusiers. I cant believe that you can have the kinds of rare cars that you guys did, and PT's win. Makes no sense, and the judges need to be slapped.

All the classes except for stock and vintage are popular vote. That's why some decisions are interesting.

The PT Cruisers should have a seperate class.

I believe any stock FWD car could be entered in the stock class.

It would be nice of the show organizers to have FWD modified and FWD restified classes like the A, B and E bodies have.

Admitedly, the show emphasis is the 60s Mopar muscle cars, but the FWD cars are an important part of the Chrysler Corporation history.

Here is a little more to the new Challenger story.

It is the first new Challenger sold in Utah. There was another sold earlier by a Utah dealer but it went to Idaho.

The owner had some connections through his wife's union and he managed to make friends with many people in the factory. They moved the build date of his car up, he didn't ask. It was originally scheduled to start the build on June 30, which was delayed to July 12.

Some of the factory workers took photos of his car being built and others managed to photograph it during shipping. And the factory and shipping people managed to get him all the paperwork associated with the build and shipping!

Hopefully, he will organize all this unique information into a display, he said he was planning to. He has had the car for only two weeks, not enough time for this year.

Some of the interesting questions he has fielded: Is this a modified/custom Challenger? It this the new Camaro? Is this the prototype Challenger?

And he bought it from Hinkley Dodge for retail price! No $20,000-30,000 markup like other dealers in the area wanted.

It was the Brain Child of Steve hinckley and when he left Hinckleys to go to Larry Miller Dodge so did the Show, he is the reason it is at Larry Miller. He also is a great guy to buy your Factory parts from let him know you are involved with the Shelby Dodge group in Utah and he will get you a discount. Just ask for Steve when you call their parts department.
