So the week end down in Vegas was really nice. Considering it snowed the night before we left, it was nice to enjoy the 80's all weekend. As for the show it self. It was really cool. For those of you that like old mopar muscle cars, there were a TON of super nice cars down there. In fact I didn't spend nearly enough time looking at the cars in the show. As for the turbo dodges, we really need to get more to show up!
I brought my R/T down and entered it into th show, and there was one other guy from northern Utah that had a LeBaron GTC in the show (cant recall his name), and that was it! The TD community really didn't represent down there!

There were a a handful that came down to race though, so that was fun.
Matt Lindsey brought down his turbo mini and tok it down the track a few times spinning most the way. I think his best time was a mid 16 maybe?
There was a guy named Jeremy from Sandy whom I had never met before that brought down a yellow turbo mini with a 555 and ran it down the track. I think he brought his times down from a low 18, to 17.3. Considering it was completely stock and he had never raced before, I thought it was pretty good.
Boyd in the "ugly brown omni" was down there racing like he has been every other year. Normally he is very consistantly in the low 12's, high 11's, however when he got ready to put his slicks on he noticed they were split pretty badly, so he was forced to run on street tires all weekend. I think he was pretty consistantly in th low 13's spinning all the way down the track.
Alan, who was able to bring his T3/568 rampage to the track for the first time since he has owned it was probably the biggest project down there. BTW, his rampage is awesome! He has done a VERY good job installing the motor into the little trucklet. It came out super nice. I believe he started the weekend running high 15's which he wasn't very happy with. After playing with his cam timing and fuel pressure, he brought it down into the low 14's. Probably the funniest thing I have seen was his weight reduction at the track. First he pulled off his tailgate and bed cover. The next project was hilarious! The rampage had a spray on bed liner that was done in 84! So it was super thick and heavy. Because it was so thick and looked so bad he had planned to remove it and replace it with some more modern (and lighter) bed liner. So he payed Boyd's son to start tearing it out. It took him almost the entire weelend working at it with a knife, scraw driver, a pray bar, and some channel locks. But piece by piece he finally go it all off. When he finished, Alan took all the pieces to the scale and it all weighed 60lbs! Talk about heavy! I believe over the entire weekend he ended up losing over 100lbs from the little truck. Oh, and he ran a 13.98 for all his efforts.
There was also a guy named Claytona who lives in Price that brought hiw turbo Lebaron K-car. He is there every year and runs pretty consistantly. He had a s60 turbo on the car that blew a seel three days before the show started, so he was forced to use a spare T2 turbo. I believe he had at least four runs in the mid 13's, untill the turbo let out on him. Still a pretty cool car.
The only other TD down there that I saw was owned by a guy named Ed. He drove his R/T out to the show but didn't enter it. It is red just like mine, but is completely loaded. Leather, power everything, overhead console, etc.. He also had just put on a brand new set of wheels that looked great on there. Plus his car is just super clean!
The weekend overall went very well and Im sure all who went had a good time. I am already committed to bringing something down next year to race.
