I have a number of idea's for August and Sept. or should I say some great idea's from our friends!

August 18th Meet at Porky's Drive Inn at 1:00 or so maybe eat there and then we could cruise up to Anoka, they have a free car show for 1975 and older cars there. They usually have 400-500+ cars there, music, food and alot of cool cars.

and/or

August 26th, Sunday from 10AM-4PM —
Wheels Of Italy car show, alot of cool Italian Cars & Motorcycles there, I'm sure Bob can help me out on the details there. I emailed the guy about admission prices, help us out Bob!

It's at The Lake Calhoun Executive Center at 3033 Excelsior Blvd., Minneapolis, MN

WheelsOfItaly.com

Sept. 8th

Paul / phantomrt suggested this...

I think I mentioned it before for our September meet to be on the 8th in Osceola, WI which is like 4 miles from my place. There's a beautiful park by the St. Croix river where we could get some good pictures, have a barbecue, etc. There is the Osceola Wheels & Wings car show that weekend. Admission is free, and you get to see a little bit of everything there. One guy brings a mint red CSX there every year, but I don't know who it is. Maybe we can stop by my place and hang out in the garage afterwards. It just depends on everyone's feedback as to wether this is a good idea or not. Just an idea to throw out there. I could see what is involved in reserving one of the shelters at the park. It is about 45 miles from MPLS/St. Paul. Maybe enter our cars into the show--I don't think that costs anything either. It'd be best for everyone to bring their Shelby car(s).

Sept 15th and/or Oct. 7th

Cawcislo mentioned this....

Rock Falls (Eau Claire Wisconsin) for the Sport Compact Day September 15th. It would be cool if we could get some TD's together and beat on all the imports. I went 2 years ago and had a lot of fun, but I was the only TD there. Is there a Wisconsin SDAC? If there is perhaps some of those TD's would like to join as well. Sorry for Hi-Jacking your thread.

Maybe I could contact the Chicago SDAC guys and see if they want to meet us there!

So guys and girls give me some feedback! I'm open for ALL of it!!!

Sorry guys, I realized shortly after my invite that I have a wedding on Sept 15th. How about Oct 7th. I'd totally be there. I'd do the 5.5 hr drive to meet up with you TD guys. I had a lot of fun there last time. I was also one of the faster cars there and I only ran low 14's. I'm hoping for mid 13's this year. Let's get out there and have some fun.

Well I emailed Jason at the Chicago SDAC club. And asked him which day would work for him Sept 15th saturday or October 7th sunday.

Maybe October 7th would be better, then everyone would have time to get their cars fixed and ready to roll!

It's free. Basically, just a big parking lot show with some cool cars and bikes. I got there late last year and still saw a few nice cars. It was also raining off and on. The friend of mine with the 308 May not make it there this year unless he gets busy. He pulled the windshield out of his car and is doing a lot of stuff to it. Maybe this show will be motivation for him to get r done. Robin could enter his TC.
I like most of the ideas getting thrown around. We need to figure out a Fall tour somewhere scenic. Hopefully I can talk my wife in to the 2nd GLHS by then and we can both go. I bet the gas could get expensive though.

Here are my votes:

August 18th Meet at Porky's Drive Inn at 1:00 >>or so maybe eat there and then we could cruise up to Anoka, they have a free car show for 1975 and older cars there.

I like this. But it won't break my heart if everyone decides on the Wheels of Italy instead. I just have a hard time relating to European cars. I'd be up for both. Both weekends look open. Its the advantage of being single.

Well, I am going regardless of what everyone else is doing. This would be awesome if everyone came. I am not the greatest get-together host, but maybe I could try to put something together.

Sept 15th and/or Oct. 7th
Where would we be meeting with the Chicagolanders? The sport compact day(s) would be cool. I'd be racing if I went. The Oct. 7 day seems a bit weird... road trip home on Sunday evening... hmmm My brother is getting married on Oct. 5, so it might possibly put a hamper on something that day.

I am flexible on most stuff. Let's hear everyone else's ideas!

Hey Paul, I'll go to all the shows, I'm single too! Maybe we can meet some girls at the shows!

I thought it would be cool to see some Italian cars and bikes since I never see them on the road where I live. Probably half of those cars are driven only a few times a year so it would be cool to see some rare cars.

Wheels of Italy may have some Italian women... if you are into that kind of thing. Hmmm. Jim and I will be scoping out chix moreso than cars. I can get the slim ones, and he can have the next size up.

Wait a minute! I came up with the idea! I should get first chances at the skinny ones!

I only said the next size up, not six sizes up. I'll take the ones that you say to be too skinny. They'll grow to proper size with age.

Porky's sounds good, if I get some free time here I might be driving my red R/T again.

We need to have a pot luck cookout somewhere. We did that with the AMC club last month and was a big hit. So much so, that this weekend, we're doing another one. I'd have everyone here, but at this time, there's no room. Maybe before the snow falls.

A park would be pretty good for that, I would think. But then we have to decide on a park...
