Hmmm. I almost forgot about the Rock Falls thing. I've been uber busy lately and the Lebaron basically died on me on Friday. But it STILL RAN and got me home! Two MAP sensor codes. It all started after the big rain on Thursday. Hwy 280 had about a tenth of a mile stretch with close to a foot of standing water. It was enough to get to the belts and cause loss of power steering and charging system, but thankfully, no derailments.

A bunch of people I know, including my brother, are getting married in the next few weeks, plus a lot of fall projects.... busy busy busy.

The Lebaron got new struts, fixed my squeeky donut flange with anti-sieze (will that work long term?), fixed the front engine mount that would clunk, changed the oil (been about 8,000 miles) re-mounted my CD changer, cleaned the interior up real good, hopefully found and fixed the trunk leak that has plagued the car for the last 6 years at least. Cleaned up the MAP sensor connector and checked vacuum lines. We'll see how it goes.
Also this weekend, I got the GM product all fixed up and ready to drive. Rough on the edges, but drives VERY nicely for a 193,000 mile car. Anyone want a $1000 car that is rough but pretty solid? It is for sale.

I'd be bringing the Daytona to Rock Falls if I race, hoping for mid 14s. Of course, I could get a manual boost controller and dip into the 13s by then. Hmmmm. $$$$ isn't plentiful and I cannot afford to break anything right now. Do I risk it?

Those are my problems. No money and down to one car. If something broke, I'd be driving the winter beater. I think it's $40 to race and $10 to be a spectator. I'm not sure what to do. I'm not looking forward to doing a clutch or tranny job on the new car. Or a head gasket on the old GLHS.

Well if a few guys can't race the support and mechanical abilities will be useful :-) Got the wideband in yesterday. Drove the car to work today, ran about 11.3 - 11.5 on the wideband so it looks like I have enough fuel. EGT's are still high. I'm gonna do some tinkering in the next few days with Cam timing and ignition timing to try to get the egt's under 1600. I'm just watching the weather. As long as it doesn't rain I'll be there.

Screw it, I am going. Not sure on the racing, but I'm going to try to be there. Anyone want to ride together there?
My brother is getting married the prior Friday, so only if family stuff gets in the way....

You have plenty of fuel if you're at the mid-11:x range. Double checking ignition timing may reveal something.

Heh .. reading some of the posts we're gonna need some spare parts, heated trailer, hoist, tow vehicle ... and some sponsors :P

Hope you get your fueling under control cawcislo.

Anyone in the alexandria area over there? I'm going to be in that area Tuesday night for work and would like to meet up with any TD enthusiasts in the area. Shoot me a PM if your interested and we can arrange something for the evening hopefully.

Alexandria is quite a ways away from actual civilization... but if you're driving in, you'd be going past many of us, including me. Sorta. Its gonna be a busy busy week for me though.

Hey we're turbo dodge guys. We don't need spare parts we can "macivor something together" if we break, we don't trailer our cars we drive them there and drive them home, hoist - what's that, cardboard and a jack, tow vehicle... no need we're driving there and back, sponsors are for sissy's :-)
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for no rain. That's the only thing that can stop me from racing now!

I'm actually going to be working in Carlos but will be staying in alexandria. Was just figuring if there was someone in that general area then I could swing by once I'm done with work for that night and catch a bite to eat or something. Do you guys have a local board or mail list?

We don't have a message board. I was thinking about adding some type of message board to my MNSDAC picture website, but have enough trouble finding time to post pictures from our meetings.
We do have a "yahoo group" thing, (mnturbododges@ yahoogroups.com) but only see about 1 message every few months. Myself, I don't know anyone up in the Alexandria area that's in to TD's.
