I should be there to watch. i dont have anything running 10's or 11's.
11s is just BARELY fast enough judging by what I've seen both on pinks and what I have seen running around here and tulsa. Last time I was at TRP, there was a black chevy pickup (late 60s model) that ran like 9.87....a pickup truck!.....and it was his DAILY DRIVER!!!

an 11 second car could beat a 9.87 truck.

The way Pinks does things, yea. But heads up, no. I don't like the ricer "I'll run you if you give me 5 lenths. Your car is faster than mine!" whiny, crying crap.

So I take it there's not going to be a meet in OKC. Typical. I pony up the time and money to go to TWO meets in Tulsa (145 miles one way) but when it comes to meeting in my neck of the woods well, "all the good places are in Tulsa" and blah blah blah. I don't think this is an Oklahoma Chapter it's a TULSA chapter. Well have fun with it. If I happen to be in the neighborhood I'll see ya. Otherwise, have a nice life.

That's kind of harsh. I live here, too. We're trying to reshedule it for may since there was weddings and the like. I know for a fact that at least Clayton will make the trip down here becuase he has in the past.....twice. Clayton and I have been trying to get people together but it's hard. Everyone has jobs and lives and it's easier for them because the Tulsa meets are closer to them. Clark Hickman, a mutual friend of mine and Clayton's, who owns a cherry '89 CSX VNT, hasn't made it to any of our meets despite knowing about all of them and he lives in OKC as well. It's not their fault....or ours (OKC folks), it's just bad timing. Last month and the month before were great. Before Ron's, we met in Depew and then went to Pizza Hut in Bristow. We'll get this worked out, it'll just take time. I can't speak for everyone but I'm certain the most of us have never tried to start our own car clubs or chapters so it's not gonna be easy at first. We're only asking for patience.

I'm fortunate enough to have a job in the industry which means that my life does, in fact, revolve around cars. But The Lord blessed me with that. Not everyone is so fortunate. Hell, If I had it my way, I'd have a high paying career and cars would just be a hobby that i would make enough money to fund.

Our next meet is in OKC area. When Tim and I first started talking about this last year we thought every other month would work, that hasn't happened once at all. I was looking forward to the OKC meet, Skip and Brenda was kind enough to offer their home for it with a little cookout to kick it off! I live in the middle of OKC and Tulsa, so either place's are about the same difference from me. I started thinking ealier today(that isn't an invite to a punch line either). Most of the crew is in the OKC area(Tim, Chris, Chris S., Skip, and Brenda). I honestly didn't know about my little sister's wedding til I posted it here. I WANT a meet to happen in OKC, and more then once. I think instead of every other month Tulsa or OKC, every other meet. That way if we have to put off a meet we can hopefully avoid this from happening in the future.

What's a good date in May for our OKC meet? I have two days during the weekend I won't be available(24th and 31st). Other then that I am free and I will be there!

Perhaps I was a little harsh if so I apologize. However, I work at least 50 hours a week, I'm a home owner , a single parent and I have three cars I'm trying to restore. I KNOW about lack of time and funds. And yes, it does take a lot of patience to get a club off the ground. Been there, done that. But, it also takes commitment from the members. I've shown that by being at the Tulsa meets as often as I can. But, it seems that when it comes to meeting here in OKC ...nothing. C'mon, it's either a chore or a hobby you love. It's not whether you show up in a turbo Dodge...it's that you show up!

I don't think it was harsh, I agree with you for the most part that everytime we schedule a meet in OKC something happen's where it isn't done. May XX I will be there with or without my GLH(again LMAO). I have the first two weekends open and i'm ready to catch up with everyone.
I agree, everyone in the OKC area has shown great commitment to our group.

When and where?

I agree, It's about commitment.....all of them. This include prior commitments that need be honored. I was just as upset as you were about having to reschedule but I didn't say anything. The reason for that is because I know family is more important (The Wedding that Clayton had to attend). The list of people who showed to the Bristow meet is as follows: Skip and Brenda, Clayton, Craig and myself. But it was still a good meet. As far as all the good stuff being in Tulsa, that isn't exactly true. Upon doing some investigating, I found a couple of places worthy of a meet and I suggested them. Namely Mr. Sprigg's Barbeque in MWC and Hideaway Pizza (in my opinion, the BEST pizza anywhere close in OK) in NW Expressway east of MacArthur. Skip has suggested the cookout at his place. I offered the 12th because I was free and no one else responded. If we're gonna meet up more often and in OKC more times, we've gotta communicate better. I got exactly no feedback on my post about scheduling the meet for the 12th. This is why the April meet fell through. Now if we can all communicate with each other a little better like we did for the tulsa meet, I'm sure that the OKC meet will go just as well or better than the Tulsa meet. On the other hand, I do understand where you're coming from. We made it clear (Or at least I thought we did) that there was gonna be an OKC meet at the time of the Tulsa meet. This was a month ago and should have given people enough time to say yay or nay. I think that the not knowing all the way up to the last minute and still hearing nothing from nearly everyone is what kind of upset ME (I can't speak for you). The only way I knew there wasn't gonna be a meet was when Saturday came and I had still heard nothing.

I want to schedule the OKC meet of Saturday, May 17th at 5PM. I want it to be kinda of later in the evening that way the people who wish to, can accompany myself and whoever else would like to go to NW 39th expressway for the weekly cruise. I would like to have a vote on where to hold the meet.

1) Mr Sprigg's Barbeque in MWC
2) Hideaway Pizza On NW Expressway
3) a Cookout at either a public park or Skip's house (Should he still be generous enough to offer it as a location)
