Boy do I have some bad news!
My brother's LeBaron won't be making it to any meetings this year. The car has been idling rough, and it started smoking. Drove it for a couple days, and it just got worse and we could not figure out why. Turbo sounds and spools great but only goes about 5lbs and the car has no power. Pulled the intake system apart and it's FULL of oil!!
Turbo appears to be fine, and it has the EXACT same symptoms of my Red Racer. So, broken piston!
Sucks, I was really bummed.

It will be built again! My brother was asking me about what pistons ran and what-not, and stopped him there. If we are going to build this car again...it's going to be right! I want forged internals and more fuel. My brother makes quite a bit more money than I do, but it will still be a project.
I'll keep you updated!

That's too bad about the GTC Bryan. How's your new and old Daytonas coming along?
This Saturday night, Anoka starts their weekly car shows. (1975 and older) I'm going to be there for sure. (I should be at home installing a clutch, polishing my Centurion II's, mounting tires cleaning and installing my new buckets on my GLHS). Oh well, I still have 2 weeks before Mopar's in the Park. All the time in the world.
Anyone going to be at Anoka or Porky's this weekend?

I ported the intake manifold, and I've almost finished the head. I don't remember if I told you guys already, but the broken pistons in the car were not factory. Turns out they were 1mm over, and the bearings were .25. So i sent back the pistons I got to FWDP, and I'm waiting for the Venolia forged +1mm pistons to come back in stock, and to be shipped out. If they come in stock soon I will have the overnighted with the strong hope of having it running next weekend...yeah right!
The '89 is just sitting up at my brother's waiting for body parts.

I also found a '98 Neon with a siezed 2.0l for $200 I might pick up, when I sell the '87 Daytona. Should be easy to get it running again, and it would be nice to have a driver.

So, who's going to have cars at Mopars in the Park? Its not looking too good for me this year with time constraints and such.... I am literally lacking time to polish up a car to bring there.

I'll be there with the Shelby. I have the next 5 days off. If I can't get everything done to the car that needs to get done, I shouldn't own it.
I just hope it was the clutch that went and that I don't have tranny issues. I don't think so, but if I do, the hardest thing will be digging a spare tranny out of the back of the garage.
I'm also debating jerking the whole engine and tranny out so I can detail under the hood. It can't be that much harder than pulling the tranny out of an L-body. I probably won't do that, but the idea was in my head all day.
I sure wish that Horizon wasn't in the garage. It would be so nice working on the car in there and having access to my cherry picker and parts washer. As it is, everything is stuffed in the back of the garage to get that car in there. If I see the next door neighbors camper trailer is gone tomorrow, the Horizon comes out.

This is my mess and our new Horizon. The guy that sold me the SC buckets didn't have a clue what they were for. On craigslist, he listed them as gray bucket seats. I do a search for "shelby" every day but missed this one. Thankfully, Jim stumbled on the ad and sent me a link. In the ad, the guy said he thought they were from some kind of Dodge.

I'm a bit bummed out at the way that Centurion II rim came out. It's too shiny. All I did was remove the clear chemically and then shined it up with "Mothers" I didn't try to get them that shiny but that happens when the clear is gone. I may get them done professionally in the near future. But I wanted to get them looking better for now. The clear was getting cloudy.
More garage pictures.

I am going to have my 1986 GLH there, almost finished with intercooling the TI and swapping it to 87 electronics with a stage 3 comp. So hopefully it runs good enough to drive the 2 hours to Mopars in the Park.

What kind of people do (trader) you think (sell-out) we are? If you want to drive the Stealth, (cause you're too lazy to wax the GTC or ES) go ahead. Just kidding. I'm driving the Horizon.

I'll be there with the Shadow Convertible. I'm bringing my grill again so bring whatever you want to grill.

Maybe I can remember to bring Robin's tupperware container!

Got the Shelby Running saturday. But it runs like crap so I need to get the bugs out. But at least it's finally running. I only drove it one month before blowing the clutch. There was about 1 sq. inch of clutch material on one side of the disk. Not a lot of grabbing power there.
