I went home by way of Pilot Knob Rd. I have a friend who's back yard is along Pilot Knob 2 blocks south of Cliff RD. I stopped over there to show him the car. When I called him to see if he was going to be home, his wife told me it was hailing there at the time. His son was in the background saying it was golf ball sized. I think he was exagerating a bit, but a half mile south of his house, I thought it looked like it had snowed a bit. There was a lot of hail on the sides of the road. I stayed there for quite a while and then swung through Porky's on the way home. Made for a real long day.
The cars running good. Sunday, I took the long way home from Mopar's in the Park. I went to Buffalo then to a frineds house in Rogers. On the way there, I hit that newly redone road that goes between St. Michaels and the I-94. This Nissan Maxima was driving fast so I thought I'd keep up with him. He nailed it and tried to out-run me. He couldn't do it. I just kept getting closer and closer. I figured in time I'd be passing him so I just let up on the gas. I was going pretty fast and like my drivers license. I looked at the GPS a few minutes later to see the highest speed I acheved. I was shocked. 120 MPH. I need to leave that car at home. It's going to get me in trouble. After I nail it, the vacuum hose for the heater pops off my brake booster and I lose my PB's. It feels like there's hardly any brakes. That's all a guy needs. Hit your gas hard and then lose your brakes.
It was good seeing everyone at the show. Also meeting all kinds of new people. We didn't win anything at the show. An SRT-4 won something. I can't remember who else in the FWD crowd won something.

Hey Bob, I wish my car ran that good. Sounds like it was a blast. On saturday on the way home we actually missed all the bad weather, we didn't hit much rain until Maple Grove.

Is the MNSDAC site being updated, because I can't get it to load.

I guess I was expecting the site to mess up. They bill my wife for it and didn't charge us for the last payment. I just updated the pay plan with them so hopefully it should be up and running again soon. Thanks for pointing that out to me.

Ah Crap! I totally forgot about Back to the 50's! There's no way we will be able to even find one spot at Porky's on that saturday.

We will have to make the meeting either June 14th or June 28th what do you guys think?

I vote for the 14th since I may be in Bahrain during the 28th and will miss the July meet.

I'll be 175 miles away on the 14th. And with any luck, driving the Shelby again.
You guys missed todays meeting. Actually, there were two of them. I bumped in to Todd at U-Pull in Rosemont. (No pictures. Left the camera at home) Then about the time we were leaving, Jim called and I met him at U-Pull in East Bethel. Oh yeah, you guys all missed last months too. Jim, my friend Paul and I all went to U-Pull (north). We even sound an alarm at 1 PM to tell everyone about the meetings. 1/2 price day the first Wednesday of each month.

Emergency repair!. I'm going to start carrying duct tape and zip-ties. That reminds me, I owe you for my half of the zips. Tonight I do the Hiem/Heim joints. Or wait for next week. I have the whole week off. Not my choice

Bob what did you break?
The shift linkage came unglued. One of the shifter rods lost it's inards about 3 miles from the salavage yard. Typical L-body problem. It wouldn't snap back on either. I had to pull the intercooler hoses and airbox off just to get it back together. We used some zip-ties (that Jim found somewhere) to temperarily tie the linkage back together. I was able to make it home. Tomorrow I'm going to try and convert that rod to a Heim joint. My other GLHS had another arm that wouldn't stay together so I converted that. The conversion only took 15 minutes or so once I knew what I was going to do. The whole job took much longer since I had a real tough time getting the e-clip off so as to remove the arms.
If you're still running a 525, you may want to look in to converting it. I used some snowmobile steering parts a friend just happen to be working on when I told him my problem. I told him I was going to convert it to Heim joints. He said "Would these help you any?" They were extra parts he got when he bought some snowmobile parts off ebay. Talk about timing.
My GLHS #784 broke right before I took it home for the first time. I was 175 miles away, up in Ottertail, MN. I babied it home and converted it within 2 days.
