Yeah, lets all pick on Bob's car.
Jim, can you get a good price on MP head bolts? (11mm) Or just normal in stock type Chrysler stuff? They're getting like $46.00 at the dealership for the bolts now. That's rediculus. Cindy get's $44.00 and then there's shipping. Problem is, I need 2 sets right now and am not a rich man at all.
I don't think it was that long ago, they were $20.00. The MP head gaskets are still $20 at Coon Rapids Chrysler. (special order of course)

Bob, I said it was a nice car! It has less issues then mine does.
Yeah the 88 sundance was an auto, otherwise I think I would have pulled the trans so I can get rid of my 525.

Bob I check through the local dodge dealer and they couldn't get mp bolts but for the regular turbo ones they would be a little over $30 for them plus tax so about $35 total. They said the cost is $2.80 a bolt and i get them for 10% over cost so thats about $3.00 a bolt

Not to change the subject or anything, but does anyone know what is involved with buying a car without a title and wanting to obtain a title for it?

If you're talking in MN. It's not an easy task. If you know the name it's in , you can have them get a duplicate title. Takes only 3 days or so. BUT, and it's a big BUT, if you don't know who's name it's in, you'll have to find out (on your own) before you can procede any further. My brother sold me a minivan years ago. He had lost the title before putting it in his name. He forgot the address of the person he bought it from. Needless to say, I never could get anywhere as to finding out where the van came from and couldn't put it in my name. I just wish I had grabbed the cam out of that 88 TBI engine before junking it. At that time, I had to "PAY" $25 for them to take the van. And I towed it there! Different world huh? And they gave my Sh!t about me asking why I had to pay.
Good luck Paul. What are you trying to get a title for?

Thanks Jason. I guess I'll keep looking. The nice thing with the MP ones is that they were always cheaper. Like their head gaskets. I just ordered one from Chrysler and it was $20. A regular Mopar one was (just a guess because I was quoted this 5 months ago) about $35.
I'm starting to wonder how much better the bolts can be over the after market ones. But then again, the MP bolts are cheaper than one tank of gas. Maybe if I don't drive for a few days, it'll pay for itself.
What about the ARP studs? Where do you get those and what's the price? And what makes them so great? I guess I sound clueless huh?
I saw Cindy had an ARP headbolt set?

I have the arp head studs in my omni only because you can reuse them. that is kinda handy because my motor has been apart more than once. I got mine from cindy.

Saturday night at Anoka, this last weenend, they had over 1,100 or 1,200 cars show up. Naturally, I didn't see the bulk of them. I was checking the cam timing on the Shelby and ran into problems. Only I can do a 20 minute job and stretch in in to 2+ hours.
Anyone make it to Porky's at all? I saw a red GTC convertible drive down University. Was that you Paul?

So did you do the head gasket on the Shelby that you had to check the cam timing? If so, does it feel like its pulling better?

No, I just looked at the timimg. I thought it looked off a bit so I changed it one cog. Looked at it again and knew it was right the first time. I changed it back. I haven't really spent much time trying to figure it out.
I put another door on the GTC this weekend. I bought a pair of rust free doors over 6 years ago. A guy on the forum here wanted a pair of 89 Turbo GT side moldings from a LeBaron. It took so much work to dig the doors out to pull the moldings that I figured, what the heck, time to install the drivers door. Now I have a door that's sticking open a 1/4" and a loose fender. And, it just started raining when I started this reply. First rain here in weeks.
I'd adjust the striker, but can't find my 6 point 1/2" drive 18mm deep socket. It may have fallen out of my tool box at the salvage yard Wednesday.
And I'm too cheap to buy a single socket. Those strikers are really on there tight.
