I saw an Orange Spirit cruising down 169 last week. It was completely decked out!! It was a custom orange, with rims, and cadilac taillights, and from what I could see it had shaved handles.
I couldn't tell if it was a turbo or anything, but it looked really nice. Anyone know who that is?
Well the pistons for the Red Racer are wrong! The block was built before. It was honed 1mil over, and the crank was resurfaced .25. I didn't even notice, since the pistons looked stock and the top was so black I didn't see the '1mm' on it. Anyway, the guy at Northern Cylinder Heads knew right away, and said the pistons they put in there were probobly the cheapest they could get. SO Cindy is going to exchange the Malle std pistons for Venolia +1mm, and .25 bearings. So much for having it running this weekend.
The Venolias aren't in stock...they should come next week. So I've been porting the manifolds. I got the intake all done, just to needs to be polished. Amazingly slow aganizing process.
So basicaly the only thing stock left on this engine is the turbo, which was altered, because they capped off the coolant passages that I am going to re-open. Running a stock turbo at 18-20lbs...I think it deserves some coolant.

Didn't that orange Spirit R/T have suicide rear doors, too? Its definitely not my taste of styling, but it is a pretty well-put-together car.

Phantom, how did you know I've been working on a walker like that for my retirement?
Felt like I didn't need the cargo capacity so I removed it and added something more useful;

Haven't figured where to put the intercooler yet, though.

Todd,
That's great. I think you just came up with the back of our MNSDAC shirts. Or maybe the shirts for the "prehistoric" members.
Is that a 2 piece?

Does anyone have an extra speed distance sensor laying around. The speedo in my red R/T is not working.

I have a couple, but did you try wiggling the wire going to it? My wire connector has a broken clip, so it works itself loose in a week or less and then the speedo bounces. Push it back and I'm back in business. I need to zip-tie it down.
I replaced them a few times before I realized why they "supposedly" were going out.
Are the R/T's the same as the rest of the Mopars? I assume they are.

Intercooler? Run Methonal and don't worry about it.
A guy at work buys Methonal by the drum for his race car. Says it runs him about $150 for 55 gallons!

I ran to the mailbox at midnight last night to make sure mine was in. Good thing too. I called in sick today and havent left the house. It needs to be postmarked by the 15th, so you still have a bit of time. "NOT MUCH!" You can also order an event t-shirt at the same time. You pick them up at the show though.
Pre-registration link. Print this. Do this NOW or pay an additional $10.00 at the show.
The $15.00 pre-reg price is good for both days and for two people.
