*VIDEO* Challenger R/T meets Lancer Shelby

So my neighbor sold his SC Harley truck and wanted something to replace it. He test drove a new Mustang 5.0 GT/CS but the price was over $30K and ended up buying a slightly used 2012 Challenger R/T "classic edition." It has the 376 HP 5.7L and a 6 spd manual trans with 3.92 gears out back. It's black on black with the rally stripes (also in black) and 20" chrome wheels.
Anyway it came with SLP exhaust already on it and then he went and immediately put a K&N cold air kit on it. He would jab me once in a while how the Hemi-powered Challenger is going to stomp the Lancer and make up for the earlier upset with the Harley truck. Here's how it went down......

That last race was from a stop just so there would be no excuses about that. I don't know what happened there, but the outcome would've been the same as the others. Thanks for watching!

Prolly backed off. I've stomped a few r/ts in my heavy ass subaru. The srt though... yikes.. its a beast.

Yeah, I backed off. If it's really close or I'm reelin someone in, I'll go ahead and pull all the way through 4th. In this case however it was pretty clear. Even he admittted defeat. Challengers are just too heavy.

without a computer change the new Challenger R/T isn't very impressive. The moment the thing starts to make power the computer shuts the TB. A local friend has the 11 R/T, same car with manual 6 speed. My brothers car is basically the stage 1 in the FAQ section. With really bad gas causing massive detonation and pulling of boost and timing. My retard brother actually passed the 11 R/T 3 times in 1 pass down the drag strip!!

If you can't shift a 5.7 at or a hair past 6500 RPM the car isn't running right, they feel like they lift at 5100 RPM stock. Have him add a computer like a diablosport and up the rev limit to 7k and have him power shift at 6500-6600 and give it another shot.

The SRT doesn't have the grandma restrictions as the R/T, luckily you can however remove the problem lol. Also exhaust and air cleaners don't work yet without computer mods, not really as the computer just decides not to open the TB as fast to get the same air flow..... Believe me the computer must come first lol.

your better off with a couple turbos than the supercharger, unless its a centrifugal type supercharger and not a twin screw

Tell your friend to sell the RT and pick up a TD! Faster and better gas mileage too! I think it's hilarous how everything has 300 HP nowadays, but it weights like 5000 lbs, which means it's not really that fast. Not sure why they can't make a 2500lb car with like 250 hp.

They might be but I have a V6 Challenger that has a turbo on it. I whoop those R/T Challengers all day long. They are not very fast. 14 seconds is normal in the 1/4.
