Welp, so I think we had a good turn out, eh? We had Bill, Mike, Brad, and Tony from up north, Matt, Matt's wife, and Robert from Jacksonville, Carlos from Tampa, a few other faces and myself from right here in ****ty ol' bton!

I myself ran rather poorly.. 8 runs so far.. first run was absolutely horrible.. I ended up hitting 12 psi on the brake and the car lunged right out and red lighted.. then i sat there like a idiot for 6 seconds.. in the right lane was Reject, in his lebaron with no wastegate rod connected (as he would later discover) .. 3/4 down the track I finally passed him and finished with a 18 second pass.. pfft

I then proceeded to run anything from a 14.8 to 13.9 @ 98 mph all night.. 60 foots ranging from 2.1 to 2.5 seconds (ick).. I have discovered that this transmission is a peice of crap and needs some work.. for starters I need a limited slip, manual valve body, and a general rebuild.. I could feel it slipping badly inbetween shifts.. perhaps I should try my luck with a cheapo clutch and reinstall the manual !

the last past of the night I discovered my foot wasnt even in it all the way.. not only that, I could not get more than 20 PSI out of this **** thing and I had 16 degrees of timing with 110.. 22 psi should have been achievable..

Studying the slips, I can see that I was either 77 or 78 mph in the 1/8th, picking up either 19 or 20 mph in the big end..

Welp, lets hear everyone elses stories?

hey jason
This is my second time running the spirit at the track I improved my 60 from 2.7 to 2.2 with the bf drag radial.my best yester
day was 15.3 . the bad news is that on the way back driving everything was ok but I noticed than when shifting from 4 to 3 it was grinding . from 2 to 3rd is ok I haven't drive the car today yet but I have the feeling that clutch is almost gone. my next plan are probably get some slick tires
and work with the exhaust . I have a good time hope to see you guys again

How did the mini ran after I left?

9.19 at 71 1/8th
15.09 at 84 in the 1/4

than at the end of the night, a balooning converter and bad 3rd gear netted me a 14.62

balooning converter? please explain.

because this is how my car feels..

launch in 1st...

up to 6500 rpm, ..... 6500 ..... a second later *CHIRP* 2nd gear... ... 6500... ... waiting for 3rd.... *yawn* ... ok 3rd... cross line at 98 mph every time..

best 60' i got was 2.1 ..

also i wonder WTF the deal is with this..

if i leave it in D driving around town, when I come to a stop, the car will not go back into 1st, it will just take off REALLY sluggish like its still in 3rd gear, and the converter is just slipping like mad until the transmission catches up..

AND i coudl NOT get more than 20 psi of boost!!

R/T - .655
60' - 2.359
330 - 6.996
1/8 - 10.792
MPH - 65.15
1000 - 14.055
1/4 - 16.826
MPH - 80.15

That was the best pass of the night for me ... made at around 8-9psi. :big grin: Car feels so much better and runs like a raped ape compared to earlier in the day when it was pulling coni\sistant 18.xx passes with no boost. Car felt great and i would have ate that Civic up on that next to last race if it weren't for the fuel cutout type issues I had. Oh well, seemed to have worked itself out for now. Maybe was just some bad gas? Anywho .... great time ... hopefully I should have the Charger in the next couple weeks so I can actually start playing with the Baron. :big grin: Well ... almost time for bed. Peace!

It's the Governer in the trans. If you **** it manually down it should work fine. Mine did the same thing after racing it. It gets some dirt in it. Mine ended up clearing up by itself after a month of driving but it should be taken apart and cleaned.
