I think the track is a bad place to hold the meeting. There are some of us who like to race, but of all the MNSDAC members, I can only think of about 3 or 4 that have raced in the past. Most of the members own TD's for other reasons than their 1/4 mile track performance. Not to mention, the track is 3 hours south of MSP where the majority of the members are from.

I think this is why we normally have 15 or so people at the meetings and there's 3 that are planning on attending this month.

Just my $.02. If I make it, I'll probably run the SRT4, but I don't think I'll make it.

Awesome feedback; you are the first person that has said anything.

Since we received reasonable feedback at our first meeting about gathering at racing events, we figured this would be a good place to try it out. Though I'm sure plenty of folks agree with the mindset of it is too far when they don't dragrace.

Since gathering at the local pizza shop isn't exactly 'supporting the cause' or car-related or whatever, do you have any ideas?

I'd rather see the meetings be more car-related. We are entirely up for gathering anywhere and taking feedback, but your post is the only comment we have received, honestly, so we didn't have much to go on.

Ideas?

Maybe a park somewhere in the MSP Metro. Everyone could meet up and a certain park(most have big parking lots) and hang out. BBQ on those little grills they have there. Maybe meet on a Sat at like 3 or 4 pm, and then whoever wants to can cruise up to Midway after?

Again, I just throwin some ideas out there.

Like Mark, I am 7+ hours away from the dragstrip. So it is not too attractive for me to come and attend a meeting there. Although I enjoy watching drag racing, my main intrest in these cars is restoration.

Through the summer months, most Minnesota communities have local celebrations. Many of them also have car shows as part of the festivities. It would be fun to me to see a bunch of Shelby Dodge's show up at these events.

Maybe you could set up a calendar of events on the website. Members could post local events that they know of. Just think of it, we could invade some unknown burg and give them an eye opener!

I thought of the Calendar idea today also, I like it.

We could have all future meetings on there, and local events as well.

I would would like to drag race in the fall. Right now I'm just trying to get my cars to run half way decent.

As for meeting places, a park would be a cool place. Or even a drive-in (like A&W).

Another one would be to have a meeting at a dyno place. Everyone could learn alot from each other when it comes to tuning and messing around with new ideas.

Here's a website that I found that has a list of calendar of events

The calendar idea of allowing people to show if they are available is a good idea, though the reality of folks showing is pretty slim, unless it is a real meeting.

Agree?

It is a bad time for me to go to the drag strip also. May 14 is the end of finals week and I will probably be putting my car back together that weekend, which means I would have no car to race with... I would be up for a future meet at the drag strip though.

I agree, going to a park and having a BBQ then going out and cruize would be fun. I like the dyno idea also.

Elite

I am sure some you already know about this place but I just found it. I don't know if its the best place to go or not but the group rate is 25 dollars per run and it is located in Minneapolis.

Yeah, dyno day would be cool. Elite works for me, I think Brian and Rocky have dynoed there before.

I actually won't be able to make this months meeting at CF. I'm auto-xing in St.Cloud on both Sat and Sun. There's a local Corvette club coming to the track in St.Cloud.:big grin:

Can you smell that?(sniff sniff) Something smells like roasted Z06!:big grin:

Never been to Elite before.

We go to Hi-Tech in Ramsey.

There is another shop in town that is offering a whole day for $200.00, no matter how many cars.

Will be looking into that shortly.

Still have plenty of work to do for the meeting/racing on the 15th.
Currently on the To Do List:
Install new piston in #4 hole.
Oil pan back on
Intake on head
Exhaust on head
Head on Car
Axels need to go in
K-Frame needs to go back on
Then hook everything up and hope it runs!
