MOPARS AT THE STRIP LINK

Attending this event is something that we should be discussing as a group. The Mopars At The Strip event is growing each year and looks to be a great place, especially for the Western state people, to have almost a mini-convention at.

Let's hear from the people who have attended this event before but more importantly lets here from the people who would consider attending in the future.

Having gone to the first two Mopars at the strip event, I've been very impressed, a lot of beautiful cars including a few nice Shelbys. The track is a fantastic facility. I've been to the mopar nationals and this is such a better facility I'm sure it wont be long till it exceeds the Mopar Nationals in turn out. A lot of FWD dodge guys from Utah go and eveyone I've spoken with agrees that its the event in the west to be too if your into Mopars of any size. I'll be there this year with my Spirit RT again.

I was just about to make a post about this! I'm planning on going out for it and was about to preregister but I heard another TD guy talking about running in the dyno pull last year, and I'd really like to register for that too. However, I've been unable to find anything on it on the website other than some mentioning of a Diesel Dyno Pull Off in the events schedule. Can any dodge enter this or is just for the diesels? help?

My Parents are flying out this year. And will be transporting + driving my dad's 74 roadrunner next year. They have had a ton of (mopar)freinds talk there ears off abought how awsome the event is. To bad for me I get to just look at the pics they take.

Have fun

I've wanted to go the past few years but school has been too busy, this semester I'm only taking two classes so I would really like to go. I'm in Reno so maybe if anyone is coming from the north we could use my house as a halfway point then caravan down there. Its only about a 6-7 hour drive from here, but also one of the most boring drives you'll ever make.

A friend of mine is working on procuring the road course at LVMS on April 2nd for this event. How many people would be interested in this? He should have pricing info by next friday.

I'd love to run the road course. Keep us informed. I've been thinking of going down this year as my friends had a blast last year and got his GLHS in the mopar muscle or Action (can't remember at the moment) dyno pull off.

I hope to have something ready to run by this meet. A couple projects are *mostly* ready but not quite ready to make the 300 mile drive, then beat on it, then drive home. Hmm, maybe a trailer would be safer

I've been down that track a few times. What a beautiful facility! I think I'll try to make this event. Maybe whip a hemi or two.

It looks like a blast.
I talked about going last year, but then I found out how far it really is from Minnesota!

Good luck out there!

Let me say as a past attendee of this event...WHAT A BLAST!!! I am already registered and have my motel arrangements for this year. If anybody is planning on going, best get on finding a place to stay as they are slim by now. Last year my buddies and I camped at the track, which was fun but left something to be desired after 100 degree days, but there should be lots of room if that is the only way you can go. Plus it is like 7 times less expensive ($25 for the RV spot vs. $180 for 3 nights at the Speedway Ramada).

I did get to meet Dempsey Bowling, which was cool. Not often you get to talk to people that you have read about for years.

Seemed more like a muscle car thing as there was about a 10:1 ratio for rwd to fwd stuff. But that shouldn't stop the TD crowd from being there. I would love to see a Minivan or some other FWD rig running with the big blocks and such.

Is it time to leave yet?

Last year the dyno pulls were for everybody. You just had to register for a spot and pay your money. Far as I know they weren't pre-registering, it was all just as people walked up.

My guess is that if they are doing the Diesel Pull Off, the dyno guy will be there and you can get your car on. That would be my only concern. If the guy doesn't come, it will be hard to get your car dynoed.

Dion,
Are you taking your wife and kids too? Or your brother and you going? I've been thinking about going down as well. I haven't decided who my navigator will be if I go. Just trying to see who's all going. You can PM me if ya want.

Jay,

PM'ed ya.

If anybody is thinking about this, I would highly suggest it. This has to be the best show I've been to. 'Course, I live in a little hick town, in the middle of nowhere. On the other hand, I've been going to shows from Seattle to Montana since I was a freshman in high school, and I'm getting close to my 20 year reunion. The number and variety of cars at the races, the wheels up racing, the show cars, the venders. It is all there. If I could post pics, I would. I must have taken 200 last year, and that would have been higher if my battery hadn't died.

Only 30 more days!

Hey, I guess Kenny Wayne Shepherd is doing a free concert for the attendee's.
