This past weekend (July 23/24) was Mopars At The Ranch (MATR) just outside Vernon BC. This was my first year attending, but met some great TD guys there, and saw lots of beauty muscle cars, and a nice big green cummins turbo diesel called Shrek.

There were only 5 FWD TD's there, but we had one from each turbo model. Dave (The J spot)
brought his T1 Lebaron, Ron Rosher had his all original T2 Lancer Shelby (gorgeous), Ray (shelbyplaya) with his 18psi T2 Shelby Daytona, Pat (moparpat) drove his T3 Daytona IROC R/T, and I brought my T4 Lebaron VNT.

Pat took first prize for FWD's with his IROC, while Ron and Ray tied for 2nd. FWD cleaned up at the prize table, with me taking a door prize, Ray's girlfriend winning the ladies only draw, and Graeme stunning all the old timers by winning the classic Mopar trivia. Dave took home the hard luck trophy after blowing some vacuum lines and getting a knock on the cruise, totalling 7 prizes for 5 cars entered. Not too shabby.

Highlights of the show included 2 Lebarons laying rubber at the same time, Pat showing many of the Muscle Car guys that FWD guys can lay some mean rubber when they want, and 3 FWD burnouts in a row to close the show. Check back for some pictures and videos as they'll be posted online shortly.

If you were at the show, let's hear what you thought. Impressive showing for all those who were there

If only I had heard about this. I had a boring weekend, I'd have come.

Well with only 5 FWD cars, we're hoping to get a bigger group next year, so those of us that are now on the mailing list will keep everyone posted next year.

Ok here is my thoughts on the show.
The show overall was a Good time. Less cars then I expected, but I was told later it was only 1/2 as full as last year. The FWD turnout was weak...if I had a reliable TD I woulda had it there. We were told to expect 15+ FWD's there, and to my dismay, only 5 were there. I was looking forward to meeting more of the FWD community. The ones that were there though were really cool Cars, these said cars showed the mopar community up there that FWD cars are juss as cool and a soon to be collectible. I want to personally thank every person that attended that showed a FWD there. Your cars are all awesome in thier own way! You Guys Rock!!! And for the couple of us FWD guys with no cars, well we were just sizing up the competition for next year!

Now Here, Have some pics!!!!

Here is Dave getting the Hard luck award:

And here is what I rode in to the show...It is a Turbo Dodge!!! Built in 3 months...It is a Cummins Turbo Diesel Crew Cab 1 ton truck....named Shrek!

Nice work on the pictures. I was kinda dissapointed that Rick's truck didn't take a prize for the truck class as it was probably the most interesting, and in my opinion best looking truck there. The hemi ram 1500 has nothing on it.

I think it shouldve taken something too. The truck is a really great truck to drive..and having the 96 Seats n it makes it soo comfortable, I slept from the toll booth all the way home pretty much. and at 21 PSI the truck can move along. As for fuel...This is a HEAVY truck, and it was loaded with stuff. The 1100 kms cost us $165 total. And that includes the A/C on all the time, and lots of driving in a short amount of time.

I also wasn't very happy with the PT Cruisers there. Maybe 2 were even worth looking at, and the fakest one took first. Have you used your air compressor you won yet? Bet you're excited about that :P

The air compressor LOL, I gave it to my buddy I have like 5 of them already.
As for the PT cruisers I guess blting on chrome crap and fake blowers on a ghey PT cruiser really helps you win. Its sad actually!

The fake blower was an embarrasment to every car there. Even the SX2.0 that was by us had something to show, despite the bolt on hood scoop. At least the car looked decent with his front end conversion to an SRT4 with custom grille. It actually sounded pretty good when he left too, considering it's the 2.0.

This is why I hate car shows and tend to stay away, especially with a $35 entry fee.

Yeah I'd say it was well worth it all things considered. Hell, the PT's were even worth seeing just for laughs.
