I wont have a functional car for awhile. Walking sucks. Gotta go piston shopping. I drove 900 miles to utah with 3 pistons that had a ring land broken off on the intake relief side. I broke another off 4 days ago
then I busted a hole in one of my last 2 good pistons 2 days ago. That did the car in. I should have not had the timing so far advanced. My plugs werent reading any detonation until stuff broke so I didnt really know this was happening.

Now Im gonna shop for some 8.0:1 forged pistons and make sure I get a new fuel pump before I try higher then 5 psi. The combination of ignition advance and running lean when I exceeded the fuel pump killed the car.

This is my first time really opening up my engine. Its an interesting experience.

Hope to run 15+ psi on pump gas when she is rebuilt and 400+fwhp. Then ill try some alky injection.

Andy (gabes friend) has a neighbor with a v6 spirit she doesnt want. Hopefully I can pick up this car (and get it to start again) so I can have a car that runs. Having no car sucks.

hey just call me up brent i know of a few cheap cars around
1 89 0r 90 shelby daytona needs the timing belt done 400 bucks.. has the 16 pumpers and new tires and missing rear deck spoiler which is easy to get its a 2.5 t1 auto
than there is an 86 Turbo C/S model daytona needing a trans and a driver side fender but super clean inside engine runs real strong not even the typical TD lifter noise... 300 but guy is flexible(for a c/s Turbo Z Im tempted lol) thats a damn rare car.... its red too so let me know. or just call me

I found a duster that needs new rod bearings for 100 bucks. Ill throw that engine in my spirit, then put my turbo setup in the duster, strip it down, and shoot for 11.49 next year (or more realistically, 120+mph traps since Im gonna need slicks). Ill probably turn my spirit into a tow car/daily driver.

Just in case anyone is interested, I found yet another daytona today in Orem. It is a 90 I think. It appears to be an ES. It is red with the silver ground fx. The paint looks amazing from the side of the road. (I just drove past it) It has a for sale sign in the window. Its not a V-6 so it could be a turbo. If anyone is interested I can stop by and check it out and get a number for ya. Let me know.
