I went out last night and was just cruzing around, when low and behold here comes a new V8 convertable mustang with some teenagers in it and another 80's 5.0 mustang with big old tires on the back and little skinny racing tires upfront and a big honkin hood scoop. The convertible couldn't help reving the engine next to me and acting all bad. My 1987 Shelby GLHS Charger looks really nice, the exterior is sweet and I've got the motor and exhaust to match. I also have under car LEDs and I had them on so this must have attracted them. When we got to an area that is fairly open I gave them a little taste, just to show them that they shouldn't bother, but they kept trying. I finally slowed down and let them stomp it. In about 2 seconds, I was passing them with a smile on my face, I hit 3rd and could see them in my rear view mirror (Seee Yaaaaa). We turned around and the other 80's mustang was still following and turned around with us. I figured he wanted some too, so I slowed down and waited for him to get beside me. He punched it and was making a lot of noise, but by the end of 2nd gear he was in the rear view. ALL SHOW no beef. I know they won't win, but I can't help myself. It's just to fun...

So far I have only been beat by one vehicle in my area. It's a 04Supercharged Mustang Cobra with NOS. He beat me by about 2 cars, but it was the middle of summer. My main problem is traction. I can bark all 5 gears in the winter with my peg leg system. I'll be putting in the posi and NOS in the next month or 2 and I can't wait to see the look on his face when he gets smoked. I actually think I'm going to have someone video tape it. I'll keep everyone posted.

Amazingly enough that was the "brand" he was using.... Pehaps I meant to say that...

Anyway,

What's done to my ride? The easier question to answer is what's not done to my ride

For a full list of modifications see my website:

http://hc-ese.home.net2go.com:8008/f...0Engine%20Work

There should be a word document 1987 Shelby Charger GLHS #859.doc that describes all my modifications.

You can also look around in the Shelby Pictures area.

And YES!! he was using the bottle!!
I don't know what kind of shot he has though. I didn't ask, but I'm assuming it's a 100 shot. I'm not sure if he has any other mods as well, but I know he's been complaining about his stock clutch slipping for a couple of weeks now.

Thanks

What brand intercooler is that? Freaking rape tastic ride so when are you going to help me with my tona? Lol I'm guessing traction kept you from the SVT?
I'm not to fond of the LEDs but I bet it gets attention hehe and since your car owns so hard I'll let it slide

That's a good question. I believe it is a High efficiency Garrett Air to Air intercooler part #703520-6010 Dimensions 24.0 X 7.9 X 3.5, 13.8lbs, 600hp Bar and Plate type.

Thanks for not being too critical on the LEDs.

Yes. Almost all my stuff came from forwardmotion. www.forwarmotioninc.com

24"L x 8" H x 3.5" W Good to 600 whp $395.00

but you'll also need the rest of the tubing. Best just to get the kit.

FM Intercooler Kit
Intercooler is good to 600 whp. New piping gives a smoother air flow path. Retains factory crash bar. Ideally suited for stock, enforcer and big turbos. Kit includes intercooler, aluminum piping which is tig welded, couplers, mounting hardware, and also a blow off valve bung can be installed for either a turboxs or hks blow off valve. $695.00

To install all the tubing may also require some cutting of the fender well. It did on mine at least.
