Wasted Camaro RS with DD Focus

Last night on the way back from my brother's graduation we had to drop off a friend in St. Cloud. When we pulled up to the stop light at Division and highway 15 a mid 80's Camaro RS pulled up beside us and started acting like the morons they were. So the light turns green and I launch the Focus like a champ and took the lead. I hear his V8 winding so I thought he was going to fly past us but instead it shifted. This is just when my car hit it's little power band and I just roasted him. Keep in mind this was my DD 08 Focus auto, I would have toasted him with my GLH.

Hahaha awesome. I rented a 08 focus to go down to myrtle beach in. That baby averaged 36 mpg highway. Decent little car i thought.

Yeah I get up to almost 38 on the highway with it, but with the automatic and the economy spaced gears it is pretty slow off the line. So it is still pretty sad that I beat the Camaro so bad, and we had 3 people in the car.

Yeah, he wouldn't even get close after I beat him. Just stayed way back. The worse thing is that they were acting like morons. My brother was going to ask them what trailor park they came from.

It was not the 2.8 V6, it definitly sounded like a V8.

Too funny... You think you beat a V8 Camaro (even if it was an 80's 305 cu. in. 175 HP and 220+ torque) with a Ford Focus (130 HP, 130 TQ?)? That's classic.

I doubt it was a V8. It would have had to have been a lethargic, early 80's 2.8 CARBED V6 for a Focus to stand a chance. The later 3.1, 3.4, 5.0 and definitely 5.7 all would have toasted an Automatic 2.0 Focus.

Yeah the Camaro RS V8 puts out 170 Hp and an 08 Focus is 140 Hp, both automatics with the Focus weighing alot less.

Aearly 80's 2.8 carbed V6 is way slower than a Focus, it makes alot less power, 102 vs. 140. So I don't know if his Camaro was running right or what but I posted this because I know my DD Focus is slow I just didn't think it would beat a 80's Camaro RS.

a guy I used to work with had a mid 80s V8 camaro and it was a dog, my cousins 110hp/130tq ford probe 5spd would have laid it too waste, so this is definately doable

good way to show up that heavy chevy!

^lets not forget, it was also probly puking out rats and bird nests from each cylender.... it has been sitting on the guys lawn under a big tree giving shade to the dead grass surounding the trailer park. "its not running right, im on a bad tune and theres somthing in one of the cylenders man!"
