If it weren't for probable detonation, this guy could have kept the V8 at bay for quite a while.

THATS funny !
I owned a 92 awd with the 6 bolt motor and they are tough as nails! I bet i know what happend. The oil filters are really bad about coming loose on those cars.Mine did and I didn't even know cause it was pouring out behind the sending unit and it never picked it up until it was too late. But you can slaughter V8s easy with those Awd talons and eclipses. And they will flat peg the 145 mph with more to spare.

That must be an ancient video cause I had that one for about 3 years. It is still one of my favorites. The car had to break down in order to get caught. Its always the same. They chase the guy around till something blows or wrecks or numerous people are killed. Here in canada they back off so the guy thinks he has escaped.. he slows DOWN a little so he isnt such a PROJECTILE at risk of the inocent public. And low and behold 5-10 min later he comes across about 5 spike belts a few cop cars and a highway tractor pulled across the road and the cops that hung way back pile up the road behind him.

I understand that things are different here in the vastly forested land where I live. I mean where ya gonna run? into the 100's of acres of woodland and hope to find your way out?!!

Police chases are pretty rare around here, hence the entertainment of seeing one!

Police chases are entertaining, but, as was mentioned, they put far too many innocent people at risk. Law enforcement needs to pool their resources. I have a solution. Those suspects may be able to outrun some of the cop cars, but they can't outrun radio waves. Call in a helicopter with a sniper, follow him until there are no other cars in the immediate vicinity, then whack the driver. It will save the taxpayers the cost of a trial and his prison term; then the bill itemizing the cost of his burial expenses can be sent to his next of kin.

that was a crazy vid, damn DSMs can fly and handle. if a Omni GLH ran from a cop, #1 it wouldnt get up to 140 , #2 wouldnt handle nearly as well, and 3# wouldnt have bothered as it would have broken the first good pull trying to get away. lol

You guys can be thick headed sometimes.

How hard do you seriously think it would be to out run a Crown Victoria that makes 240 bhp and weighs around 4500 pounds after all the police equipment is added.

Not to mention the fact that the officer can't match the offender move for move. The criminal can do whatever it takes to get away. The officer still has to use discretion drive defensively.
