In the left lane we have my 88 Sundance RS. Custom painted flat black hood with a large Mopar "M" decal. Swapped to a bone stock 2.5L T1, non-intercooled running 15 PSI without any octate boost/fuel mods whatsoever. Also has a T2/T3 clutch, and is sporting some 23" slicks.

And in the right lane we have Matts 89 Sundance RS. Custom painted flat black hood with a large Mopar "M" decal. Bone stock 2.5L T1, non intercooled running ~12 PSI. Stock exhaust including catalytic converter and an automatic transmission.

Without any further ado, I bring you the greatest battle that Saskatchewan International Raceway has ever seen.

Enjoy!

Please download video, no streaming. This is on my brothers server and I probably won't leave this video up for too long. If someone else wants to rehost, please do. I also appologize for the blurryness of the video, its not the greatest camera. If I can get some good digi pics of the cars I will post them up... but my own digi cam is broken, so we'll see.

12psi should give you a better run than 16.1

Matt just bought this car. It hasn't had -ANYTHING- modified other than a boost controller. No tune up, timing check... no work done at all other than an axle and a starter. Stock tiny exhaust with converter, exhaust alone would have thrown him into the 15s.

Matt did a couple more runs after this, he did manage a 16.0 too. I also made another pass but don't have a video... 14.49@92mph.

I DO NOT know why everyone says that 11psi is the STOCK boost setting. I have tried THREE stock 2.5L T1 SMEC's and two boost guages and NEVER seen over 7-8psi from a stock cal.

Maybe they wont let us have over 7psi in eastern canada!?? lol!

If you read my post, or my original "At the Strip" post. The car has a bone stock 2.5L, Mitsu turbo, no intercooler, no fuel mods whatsoever. It has converter/muffler delete, thats it. Oh, slicks too, they helped alot! 15PSI = 14.49@92MPH

Hahhhaa, slicks will help, thats for sure. Others who ran 14's have some slight mods, usually,

Your right simon.. a Garrett DOES make a BIG difference. I know on the lebaron the 2.5 seemed to labour in the upper RPMs.. now with the engione in the van, ported head and the garret,EVEN with the factory muffler, the rev limiter has been hit more than once already!
