I don't have a turbo Dodge at the moment but I used to own a 1987 Shelby Z and a 1991 Spirit R/T. I really miss my Spirit R/T and here and there kick myself in the ass for selling it. I am keeping my eyes open for another one this year. The Shelby Z I purchased stock from the original owners. It was my first manual car back when I was 17. I put an exhaust on it and that was pretty much it. I did a trade with my friend to get the Spirit R/T. I put a 3" turbo-back on it,
DSM 1G
BOV, super 60 series turbo and computer and a MBC. The car ran great. I took the head off and head it cleaned and checked, had it rebuilt and sold the car to Matt Leischer's father. I don't know if you know Matt but he was huge into the Turbo Dodges and had a highly modded Spirit a few years back.
I have had 30+ cars in my life, I am 26. Most of them were turbo cars or muscle cars. With DSMs the Bullseye housings are known to be junk. More restrictive than good. A good 2G ported, or Evo 3 housing was a much better option than the Bullseye.
I just sold my Lexus GS400 and my 1999 Trans Am. I had a few mods on the Trans Am and I ran a best of a 12.2@122 with a 2.23 60ft on street tires. That was with an auto trans.
I have a 2003 Toyota Sequoia now because my driving record and insurance says I need to slow down. Paying $215/ a month for insurance on a Sequoia is bad enough. Yea you read it right $215/month for insurance. It hurts.
Good luck with the car!
