Made it to the dyno today

I walked out semi-happy. It was a hot and humid day and my car developed a exhaust leak right before I arrived at the dyno. One of the bolts that hold the DP/WG to the turbo came out. Ecu is still pulling timing for KR and thats getting old! I think because my cut-out is so loud and vibrates the whole car, that it is making my knock sensor read false knock. There is no knock from what I can tell, especially with my alcohol injection. Other than that, anytime you can leave the dyno under your own power is a good day. Runs were made @ 25psi. That looks to be the limit of my stock fuel pump right now, I know people have gone higher but mine is leaning out over 25psi.

Best run: 335whp - 333trq @ 25psi

Next mods are some FWDP cam gears(I think I can squeeze some more HP with correct cam timing), walbro 255 pump, I also want to get a 58mm TB and a true 3inch exhaust all the back w/no cut-out Right now the exhaust is 2.5 off the turbo and it flares to 3inch after about 12inches down. But, your only as big as your smallest diameter and having 2.5 RIGHT OFF THE HOUSING is a restriction! I'm gonna go with the ATP ultimate internal WG. I think once I do that and dial my cams in, I can get to the 350-375 whp that i'm looking for with this turbo.

Here's the vid............

Turbo seems a little laggy, I think this has to do with the cam timing as well. This was done at extreme motosports in MD. Anyone who knows about import racing should know the shop or the owner Sean Glazer. He has held the fast 4cylinder title many times with his 1000+Awhp 8 second eclipse. They were impressed with my car..........they had a new mazdaspeed6 there that blew the motor after 350whp. He said, your cars making this much on 160K bottom end what a sleeper!

looks like its a start. i put down over that on 20psi with my 54trim T3/T4. i guess i dont have any knock related issues. with all your stuff you should be able to do a little more, i watched an 8V with 25psi put down more the same day as i did

I agree! I was hoping for 350-375whp but wasn't able to muster it. Granted you have a 58mm TB, better flowing turbo, a LWP ported intake and probably a better IC. Overall, your engine flows more than mine because of these differences so it will make more power at a lower boost. Even still, with 25psi on my setup I should have been able to make up those differences.

Like I said, there was some issues going on with the car when I ran it. I should have canceled my dyno and came back another day but, I was confident/anxious I will scan the dyno so you can see how bouncy the plot was through the pull and tell me what you think. I don't think I like these ngk v-power platinums, what kind of plugs are you running and at what gap? Mine are gapped at .030 which is probably a little on the big side for 25psi and alcohol. I'm thinking of going to a plain old copper plug. I want to run a 50/50 of methanol and water but everyone was out of it so I ran alcohol. I also cut the DB-9 cable for my OTC2000 and I wasn't able to "print" the info to the datalogger . I am confident that my next trip to the dyno will produce better numbers.

im running Br9ES NGK plugs gapped at .028 and im running 75/25 meth/water mix. those platinums didnt help. your turbo is still larger than mine and should move more air. im running a cheap ebay ic. you dont have much to do to make the 350

Yeah, actually i forgot i had these platinums in my car, i wouldn't have ran them with that combination if I would have remembered. I got these from my buddies shop after I dropped one of my old ones and cracked it. These were the only 4 plugs he had at the time. I'm gonna order some of these up, are the iridium/recessed/colder? Thanks!

FTW = For The Win

"For The Win."

An enthusiastic emphasis to the end of a comment, message, or post. Sometimes genuine, but often sarcastic.

Originated from the game show Hollywood Squares where the result of the player's response is expected to win the game.
Bob: Your 1up t-shirt rocks
Sally: 1up t-shirts ftw.

Urbandictionary.com FTW
