I was probably one of the first people to run a GLH with an open downpipe.
I started bracket racing my new GLHT back in 1986 and put a flange in my exhaust so I could open it at the dragstrip.
One of the first events I ran the car at afterwards, I pulled up into the staging lanes and two kids with their Monte Carlo looked at me funny, and one said "that thing sounds SICK"...back then that didn't mean good, lol!

they didn't say a word to me after I had several car lengths on them at the stripe...in the eighth mile!
