Wow. How have I not heard about a movie where Tommy Lee Jones races a Turbo Z through the city? That's pretty cool.

And it sounds a lot like they just pulled the exhaust off of the car. With an open downpipe it sounds nice and growly.

It's Black Moon Rising. A relatively obscure movie like The Wraith.

I think it looks like the old Sox&Martin paint job.

Yeah, I think the Challenger concept car was painted as a tribute to the Sox & Martin car. It was in a car magazine I was reading. Maybe the Mopar one you get from the dealerships. I can't remember.

That disappearing door concept is really cool. The only thing that would worry me is being in an accident with it. Even a low speed hit could keep it from opening.

The door thing is really cool. I dunno how well it would work on a low car though. It would ber REALLY cool for Daytona's...so you could actually get out of the car in the really narrow parking spaces they have now!!

The BMW Z1 had a similar door, but it used half the rocker to hide it instead of rotating the door under the car. They never imported them to the states becuase they would not pass our safety standards...something else to consider....

That was back when the stock cars looked like STOCK CARS!

Love the fact that it kept the hump hood.

The interesting thing is the third gen Daytona didn't have a hood hump. Weird. They did look mostly stock though. Except they were wider-bodied. And they were obviously RWD. And they had 355 cid engines. Mmm... V8 Daytona. Whouldn't it have been funny to see an IROC R/T out there running with the V8 version? It'd have to be modded a bit to handle sustained high speed, but I bet it could be done.

I wonder what ever happened to all the spare race car bodies they had?

It would have been cool if they used the R/T as the pace car. No mods needed.
