I believe the Earnhardt and at least one other IROC Daytona still exist. Most of them had the bodies cut off and were re-bodied as Avengers for the next season, others were simply junked.
Damn, they look bad-ass!

Finally a scooter that can get out of its own way! It might even do the speed limit. LoL
And good luck to anyone that tries to race the GT-R. You'll probably lose, but if you're lucky and the driver has a weak constitution then maybe he'll gray out for a second from the g-forces and you'll break away.
Edit: Although with an 11 second 1/4 mile, I know a few of you could run it down. Just do us all a favor and don't try it on the street since you'd have to be doing better than 130 mph.

Well, his thoughts and ideas are good, but the execution is CRAP! The car just plain weighs too much! I think it's close to, if not more than 5000#!!!! It doesn't mater that it has 500hp, it's still not as fast as it could or should be! Expecially for the price they want! I beleive that America can build good cars that do as much as the imports and that we can beat them. However, that car isn't going to do it!

Eh, ok...a little lighter than I thought, but still!!! Whatever happened to shedding weight to make something faster?! It also allows the given parts to work better and be more reliable! This car pretty much exemplifies what a lot of the people in the world view Americans as: loud, obnoxious, overweight, ostentatious, and overbearing. I'm all for it being all american, but there's better ways of beating the competition. Besides, both Dodge and Chevy build cars that are in the same price(once the dealers put their mark-ups on it) range that TROUNCE that thing! I just don't seeing it being the "world beater" that they make it out to be....

FWD F4 cam installed in the CSX. Might be best to Save As since it's 35 Megs.

Keep in mind the GTR Nissan weighs 4,000 lbs too. In fact take an old turbo stealth. Bore and stroke it to 3.8L which isn't hard. Then lower the horrid gear ratio to 4.0. Then add more boost, the 280 HP had 4 PSI, 300 HP had 6 PSI and the 320 HP had 8 PSI of boost. Run the bored and stocked Stealth to 15 PSI at least, hey how about more like the GTR. Then you have a 4,000 V6 with AWD that runs 11s. Add todays tires and suspension upgrades and it'll handle better, the Stealth has AWS. They stuck an auto in the GTR because if it was a stick it would break.
Racing one? From a dead stop at the track with slicks you can do ok against one. On the street? 99% of all drag racing is from a roll, and thats why the SRT 4s have been raping the AWD cars from Japan. The MPH through the traps says it all for street driving, the GTR will get past by every American builder, Vette, Viper or GT500KR super snake. In fact most Vipers and Vettes 10 years old have more trap speed. AWD is nice and autos that take driving away from the driver help too, the clowns that drive cars from Japan need help shifting. They should make the SRT Challenger AWD, they have the parts. Also putting turbos on the AWD R/T Avenger would be sweet too in SRT 6 form. But people like to spin the tires here, and thats why muscle cars go over 5 million and a 68 Nissan is worth $2,000 (cherry).

My whole point is that the weight of cars today is getting WAY out of hand! Most of the new cars today are over 3000#. They keep making more power
(which has its good and bad points), but the milage is no better, the handling no better. the braking not much better...why? WEIGHT!
Cars need to go on a serious diet and then we sill see a surge in not only performance, but also efficiency. Hmm...that sounds like a win-win situation to me! Too bad the car companies and the oil companies don't want the general public to win...
