Talking my $400 lebaron conv :) also my first mopar

Its a 95 gtc.It needs a tranny. But other than that she is straight. And she is going to be my platform for my " project vic slayer " a.k.a my good friend has a crown vic interceptor, and i want to smoke it :) end of story. So for now 6al box, crossover mount turbo, 8psi t3 style , 58 or 60mm tb, 3in fart pipes, 225 fule pump, plume flip w 1in spacers, coil relocation, port intake upper/lower. Megasquirt will have to wait along with 5spd swap, But yea. So what do you guys think? About my plan and my car that is. And oh yea. Im mike. New to mopar and this place. Wich is a great help my research btw.

I think he was referring to the "fart pipe" terminology. A free flowing exhaust is definitely worth doing.

I wouldn't expect that 604 trans to hold up to the mods you listed. You'll want to plan to do the 5-speed swap before adding any forced induction power. Get an external oil cooler on there if you plan to keep it automatic for a while, and don't run the fluid through the stock radiator cooling lines. Those transmissions tend to run way hotter than they should.

you should look into MEGAJOLT instead of the 6AL box. it is cheaper, you can customize the spark map, and it will switch you to a coil pack. you will have to make a 36-1 trigger wheel but you will have to make some kind of trigger for the 6AL box anyways because our distributors use the photo optic pickups and won't work with the 6AL. you still have to keep the distributor because it will be used for the injectors and tachometer.

I did it to my car and it has been great so far, for 8psi you don't really need to retard the timing in boost but once you go 8psi you will want to go more then you will need retard timing to keep your motor alive and make more HP.

Re: my $400 lebaron conv :) also my first mopar

There were about 500 LeBaron's built with the V6 5-speed option (at least from what literature and ex-ChryCo engineers have said). Thankfully, the 91-93 Daytona has the same center console as the LeBaron, so you can use one of them for your shifter surround. Don't get one from a '90 as it sits higher.

Cars with the a543 transmission you need would include the LeBaron, Daytona, Spirit, and Shadow/Duster. I don't think many Spirits came with the V6 5-speed option either, so you should probably focus on finding a Daytona or Shadow or Duster.

If it helps, the V6 became an option for the Daytona in '90. I'm not sure about the Shadow/Duster, but I assume it was around the same time.
