I saw that one some time ago, and it's still funny. On a personal note, I know a guy with an '03 Cobra who was tormented by a kid with a Stage 2 SRT-4 who said he could easily hang with the Mustang. The kid said he hung with a blown Cobra before. The Cobra guy said "are you sure it wasn't a V6?" After that, the race was on! That Cobra blew his doors so far off, I doubt he ever found them.
Since the last time I made a post regarding SRT-4s, I've encountered two SRT-4 guys who weren't douchebags, and, perhaps not coincidentally, they also happen to own old-school TDs. They are both knowledgeable car guys who know they can't "hang" with a Kenne Bell equipped '03 or '04 Cobra. It's just that so many ricers have bought SRT-4s-and brought their ricer mentality along with them, that, by virtue of their actions, they give the car a bad name in many people's view. It's a stigma with which, unfortunately, even the good owners, like the two I mentioned, must contend. I guess that's why these two guys complain about the antics of some other SRT-4 drivers. I felt the same way about some other 5.0 guys back in the day when I had by built and blown 347. Eventually, however, the idiots will either total their cars or have them reposessed, leaving a higher percentage of responsible people driving SRT-4s, and the stigma will diminish.

I'm not a neon owner, but I do think they're the best valued car on the market right now in their respective catagory. But! That was one of the weakest movies I've ever seen in an attempt to rip on a particular car. It wasn't even the slightest bit funny....Now the VTEC rap movie is beyond hilarious. The sad thing about V8 powered cars is that it takes little knowledge and effort required to make the car potent....this may be a hasty generalization...but when you can put heads on a car and get 80 horsepower, that's not much fun. Strapping on Vortec supercharger is way too easy...That's why I love 2.2L cars that make 320 ftpds of tourque....

Correct me if I'm wrong but it fairly easy to get 320 FT-LBs or torque out of a turbo dodge. All the basics apply on our TD motors vs bigger motor. All you have to do is get the volumetic efficiency up and get more air in and exhaust out.

I have an 03 Cobra and I don't think it to be that fast anymore. I have a spirit RT and seems easy to get the power to weight ratio the same as the mustang. To get the same power to weight ratio in the rt I would only need about 290 hp in the Rt at the wheels. All that takes is a new turbo, Exhaust, Cal, and more fuel.

The same reason Evolution owners wont call their car a Lancer.
The same Reason Cobra owners wont call their car just a mustang.
The same reason STI and WRX owners wont call their car a legacy.
The same reason TypeR integras wont call their car just an integra

I call my SRT-4 a Neon. I mean, it is on the outside. And it's all that much better when you tell people that have no idea what kind of car it is that it has 230hp

But I'll agree with him. The cobra's are faster than a stock srt-4. I took a cobra for a test drive on the same course I took the srt-4 on, and the cobra's average speed was probably 20mph higher than the neons.

I've seen SRT-4's beat "STOCK" 99-04 Mustang GT's (but not by much)
could be the driving either way that's nothing but a mustang Jack-off vid.

A 2004 NEON 2.4Liter Turbo will beat a 1999-2004 Mustang 4.6 2v per cylinder on the top end. In a quarter it's a driver's race. If you compare the two then the performance is close but I believe the edge goes to a NEON Turbo.

true it is a drivers race, MM&FF got a 99+GT down to a 13.9 stock, ive heard the same for the srt4, u cant doubt the power of a mustang and u cant knock the srt because both are good competitors to other cars, an 03 cobra and an srt are not in the same league, 12.8 best run stock on an 03 cobra and lowest ive heard again was a 13.9 on an srt why would anyone compare them... i just sold my mustang last night, it was only a gt, but i nailed it to around 350hp and 350tq... my friend has an srt and he knows that my mustang would beat him, but i dont rub it in... the kids that made that cobra vs srt clip are babies, along with the srt4 owners that say they only have an intake and boost controller and hang with cobras... babies, bottom line...
