What route do you take, and how long's the ride ?

Mapquest est. from my home to our hotel(Ramada Plaza Beach Resort) it's a 14hr 20min drive. Not sure how many stops we will have(gas, restroom, cigarette breaks~i dont smoke in the car with my kids, and all) i'd say all day Monday i'll be driving lol So i'll be rested and ready Tuesday

Have a safe trip. Use the cruise control and selt belts. Holiday season you know. Our relatives arrived from Mich. the other day and said cops and S. troopers are out in full force and had more vehicles, including semi's, pulled over than they had ever seen. We went to Destin Fla. a while back, and the cops are always pulling people over because of drugs and alien smugglers. They use seat belt non-use as a good reason to pull-over and search vehicles.

I am planning on it being a safe one. Cruise will be used(lead foot time to time) and a seat belt is now and for ever a must have.

I know what they mean by cops being out, we had one in our town(which doesnt have a cop at all). It was a surprise lol.

Fort Walton is a drive for me. Way up in the panhandle. I don't know of anyone up that way....but who knows.

Just an FYI and an opinion: Google Maps are MUCH better than Mapquest. It seems to me the mileage is almost dead-on and all the turns seem to be exact. FWIW!! David.

I never tried google, did Yahoo! once(never again, they got me lost). Thankfully the GPS is dead on

Vicksburg is nice so far, the hotel even provided some free beers
