Customs intakes available at FWD-P

I have a vote for 8v pics too. I don't care if the 8v engine needs it either lol. That BS debate is next. But an 8v intake is really hard to fab custom. The 16v intakes are alittle more easy. One like this for a 8v would truely be the only ice water in the desert over the 16v intake. Are they cheaper in satin finish lol, I would have to powder coat it to match the valve cover.

That's 1 sweet looking intake... Has it been "mocked" up to an 8v block for turbo "fitment issues"??? Definately on my Want to buy list

That is one solid intake manifold. Three questions though:
1: What is the weight?
2: What do the inside of the runners look like?
3: A stupid one but is there any back to back dyno numbers?
I am in the middle of a hybrid motor and would like to know the benifits of this manifold vs other custom creations.

I would like to know if the runners are stock size or as large as the gasket. The runners look small in the pics, doesn't mean they are. It's allot of work to cut one open, port it and then reweld it. CNC cut were they funneled like a velocity stack?

shorter, larger runners with a much larger plenum doesn't need dyno figures. One of these intakes added to a real nice head will shine, not to mention rev higher.

Dont have the weight, mabey Cindy can weigh one on her shipping scale, they have gotton a bit lighter over the months. The runners are machined from billet and are the same size as the gasket with internal velocity stacks.

No back to back dynos,but larger plenum, runners and velocity stacks will make an improvement.

The nicer my GLHS gets the heavier it gets, 5 lb weight loss or gain isn't going to effect much I don't know why people care how much it weighs. As for the rest, sweet, will be a bolt on for my 8v head then.

yes, and no. I seem to sell every intake that I get in. The one I had pictured in post 1 is sold and gone already. The 8v ones will be coming soon, there have been some updates/changes since it's debut at SDAC but with the backlog at LW plus other items that will be released in addition to the intakes, all that adds to the timetable. We will post pictures as soon as we have them on the shelf ready to ship. Sorry if that inconveniences anyone, but these are a work of art. IIRC Michelangelo took a while to paint the Sistine Chapel LOL

The 8V isnt done...yet. It will be a direct fit and will include a fuel rail. I hate giving deadlines, but it will be released when we are happy with the end result. We have some new equipment on the way which will make a more refined product, thats part of the hold up.

"ANY" weight forward of firewall is GOOD weight in FWD!

I remember fondeling it at SDAC15, heavier than stock and

Can you take pics of one before and after welding? I am intrested in the runners. Little hard to see it after it gets welded. I also wonder about the runners are cut. They need a curve because of the turbo and intake port angle. CNC machine cut around corners? A new intake for a 8v engine has got to be ugly to make right.:)

well after another look, I see that my previous thought that my newer style head had the same intake bolt pattern as the older head. Well I was wrong. Would of made my life a lot easier to go with a earlier head. I might just go and use an older head.

As for my questions I know that It will make more power, I just wanted to know how much? Is it worth the money for the performace aspect.
It is a piece of art but that doesn't make my car go faster. Despite what those ricers keep telling me.

back to back dyno testing would be nice. stock, mildly modded, and a little higher modded vehicle.

ive always been skeptical about people making their own intakes.. lets see some #'s!
