These are all good points! Another thing to consider is that a PTs suspension is not really engineered for high performance racing, Rally, or Drifting. The PTs standard FWD, lack of Anti-Role Bars (aft 2003), and Twist-Beam Rear suspension limit a PT's ability to handle the extra stress that comes with prolonged racing. You can upgrade your Turbo, but then you will have to make changes to you transition, and suspension. It is all part of the same system. As a 'Touring” PT owner It would be cheaper to build my own SRT than it would to make the required changes (to rally, drift, street race) for my PT. On the other hand, the PT has a great suspension for its intended use.
