I've seen 2 @ work in the parking garage with MI tags on them. Must be at dealerships now. Both were silver. Maybe there will be a few at the Dream Cruise.

basically you lease it but have to write reports on your experiences and only a small amount were put out

Chrysler's turbocharged 2.4-liter world engine will still boast a best-in-class 280 HP and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. All that power to the front wheels will be kept under control by an electronically-tuned brake lock differential that controls throttle, spark advance, and boost, while a Getrag six-speed manual transmission will round out the powertrain. To make sure the Caliber SRT-4 holds the same value quotient of the Neon SRT-4, Dodge is working hard to deliver a stripped-down model at just under $20,000.
When we heard that the Caliber would be FWD and have 300 HP, we were skeptical that such a light vehicle would be able to handle that much grunt being sent to the front wheels. 280 HP isn't a drastically lower number, but Dodge engineers are at least trying to keep the prodigious understeer in check. If Dodge can deliver a budget hot rod under $20,000 that boasts 280 useful horsepower and a road-holding suspension (plus those trick 19" SRT wheels), then the Mazdaspeed3 and VW R32 are going to be in for some stiff competition.

Under $20K!? Unlike the regular caliber, they even look cool. Wowza, might have to look into one of those.

From today's emloyee news.........
Pricing announced for Caliber SRT4®
The Dodge brand announced today the pricing for the all-new 2008 Dodge Caliber SRT4®, the latest addition to the popular Street and Racing Technology or SRT® vehicle lineup. The 285-horsepower SRT4 will have a U.S. manufacturer's suggested retail price of $22,995, which includes $560 for destination. The Dodge Caliber SRT4 (pictured below) continues the popular SRT legacy and once again delivers the SRT mission of benchmark performance—0-60 mph in the low 6-second range—at the lowest price.

And you obviously let your japanese hoopty fry the logical side of your brain.. You do realize by your screen name and the post you made your setting yourself up for it right?
Yeah the Caliber isnt everyones cup of tea but was the first Srt4 either?
Its personal preference not everyone will like the same thing. But honestly a Black on Black Caliber Srt4 looks mean as did the 22 Caliber they was showing pictures of.. just no chrome it makes the car look fugly.

I think chrysler screwed up BAD when they made their smallest car a mini SUV. Dont know how much of that was diamlers fault but it was a very stupid decision.
The neon was a great fleet car. Chrysler no longer has such a product.
BTW 285hp? is that a mistake or are they lowering their claims?

They don't want too many of them torque steered into ditches. Kinda makes the insurance rates go up. I'm sure the aftermarket crowd will get that first digit to a 3 easily.

I like the looks of it. Always been a fool for the hatchback :^)
And yes, it's 285 HP. Here's the link:

Check out the pic of the motor. The oil cap says Mobil 1 SAE 0W-40. 0W-40? Whew.
