hey all i need some help i have a 05 srt and the other day the check engine light came on so i ran the codes and it is pulling up two p 0633 and p 0123. the car seems to be surging when i drive it so that woudl lead me to suspect that the TPS has gone bad. but i figured i would ask you guys and see what you thought could be the problem. the dcar does have a stage one kit installed on it if that helps. any hepl would be much appreciated

P0123 = Throttle Position Sensor #1 High
P0633 = SKIM Key Not Programmed In PCM

It is your security key
It stands for Security Key Immobilization Module.
The keys are programmed to the vehicle thru the Skim Module and all info is stored in the Skim Module and PCM.the system operates by turning off the fuel system when a key that is not programmed to the vehicle is used.If an attempt to start with the wrong key is attempted 3 times the vehicle will lock you out and you will not be able to start even with a good key.
This code says that the Skim info is not programmed into the PCM.
Did you change the controller or controller programming?

So I assume that the car runs but the light is on?
Do you have an OBD2 scanner? If so how many key counts since each code was set?

How did you retrieve the codes?
You need to check the codes and then clear them and see what comes back.
Autozone may be able to do this for you.
When you check the codes you need to look at the key counter,if it says more than 0 since the code was set the problem is intermittant.you also need to see how many good trips were recorded since the code set.
2 good trips and the controller will clear the code by itself.
You also need to look at freeze frame data to see conditions the vehicle was under when the code(s) set.
A good trip on OBD2 is starting the vehicle cold, driving until warm and driving under the conditions set in freeze frame data that set the code and the problem no longer exists.
You cannot run a good trip again until the vehicle sits, gets cold and you start again.
Normally a SKIM code such as yours will prevent the vehicle from starting and I am guessing the TPS code has the light on,but without a scanner it is all a guess.

Warranty is good because it is free. Do not clear the codes before you take it, it will clear all OBD data also.

That is not accurate on OBD2, alot of times they are false codes, the car will still flash but you are not totally communicating with the controllers.
I work at a dealership and deal with OBD2 and Can2 Bus systems everyday.
