head over to PTCrew dot com, all your answers should be there. The auto will take some abuse but not that much, But then if you got the money you could always buy a DCR auto tranny for a few bucks and then your good for 9sec passes at the drag strip

And congrats on your cruiser too.

I just sold my '03 turbo pt autostick. I had stage 1 computer, spring on the wastegate to hold boost, and full 3" turboback exhaust w/o cat. It ran very strong, my only complaint was traction, it would just spin the tires in first and most of second when I was on it. The turbo spools so fast it would just spool up and the tires would rip loose and that would cause the trans. to automatically shift to the next gear. It was a bit better in manual mode, you could put it in 1st and just leave it and it would wait a bit longer to shift, however, it would still shift before 6000rpm if the tires were spinning. Surprises everyone on the street tho. Oh and from what I've heard, those automatices are good till about 275hp.

Sorry to bring up and old post...I've got a 400+whp pt cruiser auto myself. No, the trans is nowhere near stock lol. My stocker went out on my when I made 228whp and 293ft.lbs torque, with only 22k on the odometer. It's not the power that kills them, it's the torque. And boosting at all in overdrive is certain death to these trannies.
