Test Drove the SRT4

So the guys at the office were bored and I've been talking nonstop about the new sti, evo, and srt4/gt cruiser. We went and test drove the new srt4.

On the way there I ran into a new gt cruiser at a stoplight, I'm assuming it was an auto. He launched on me (a salesman was driving it so I figured he would, they really beat on the cars before they sell them). I just rolled away from the stop sign as usual but when I saw him launching I floored it in first and was quickly door door to door with it we quickly shut it down because of traffic, I was impressed with it.

So we're at the lot checking out the neon and I know more about it then the dealer, and he asks if we wanna test drive it, HELL YES! So the dealer drives out flogging this poor car that has barely 200miles on the odo and it feels pretty quick. My co worker mike gets in the drivers seat and scares the hell out of us all! I get to drive it and I have to say I was very impressed, if I had the money I'd buy the evo or the sti but realistically you can't beat what the srt4 has to offer. I still think my car would kill it from a dead dig but from a roll I might lose.

With four people in the car and with a full tank of gas the thing was still fast, faster than the g35 we test drove and the 3 series bmw. If I could afford one and find one at msrp (forget the 5k markup) I would definately get one, maybe even a 5spd gt cruiser.

Sorry for the long story but I just had to share.

Test drove one today. Have to agree with all your statements. The car is quick, but not same fast as my car (what was I expecting??? ). With the Mopar 300hp kit, it would be a very cool streetable 'under warranty' car.

Maybe I will have one soon..........

I got to drive a black SRT last Friday,,,real quick and smooth, not as fast as I was hoping for, needs some TD tuning,,
The boost would peak up to 15lbs then settle to 13. Handles and breakes OK but could use some wider tires.

They do get stronger as they break in. I can't measure it, but certainly feels stronger at 4300 miles than it did when I picked it up in Feb.

yes, I bought a yellow one, but it will still be about a week or so before it gets shipped from FL. to TX. I can't wait, I already have a few things ready to add on......I was impressed with the car, and aside from a few minor things that I plan to address as soon as the car arrives, I think it's gonna be a great daily driver. I really like the 7/70 warranty too!
